Upon his arrival, Sheriff Hinkle quickly established himself as one of the most respected law enforcement officials in central Indiana. From his office at Big House on Main Street, he aggressively prosecuted numerous crimes including counterfeiting and robbery amongst other offences. In 1875, Mayor Wm Noyes appointed Captain Jno Fenton (who would later become sheriff) to lead an investigation into fraud allegations made against him by prominent citizens such as Judge Augustus Herndon and Congressman Abraham Lincoln Dodge Sr.. After months of work, Captain Fenton uncovered evidence that several high-ranking individuals had committed criminal acts while employed by Mayor Noyes including bribery, extortion and obstruction of justice. This resulted in Mayor Noyes being impeached and removed from office following an extensive public outcry throughout central Indiana! In retaliation forMayor Noyes' removal from office, four members of his cabinet resigned effective August 1st – making way for Captain Fenton to take command again! Captain Fenton's tenure as sheriff saw many major successes including solving some Of The Most Significant Crime Spree's In American History such asThe Great Chicago Fire Of 1871 & The Raid On The White Stockade During The Black Hawk War (1867). He also helped develop new methods such as fingerprint identification which would become standard practice within law enforcement circles years later. He is credited with developing modern DNA testing techniques which are still being used today! During Captain Fenton's long career with Saint John Police Department; he never lost faith or patience with criminals or their efforts to evade justice – even going so far as to use force if necessary! However, he is also well known for his sense of humor which often contributed towards improving relations between police officers & citizens alike – something that continues to be appreciated today!

This shrine is located on the grounds of the Catholic Church parish house in Stanford City, Indiana and was dedicated to the memory of Father John Francis Ryan who served as pastor at this location from 1951 until his death in 1984. The Pope also named a day in honor of Father Ryan, October 15th. Father Ryan was born on December 12th, 1927 in Indianapolis,Indiana to parents Patrick and Eileen (née Maher) Ryan. He attended Notre Dame Preparatory School and then Holy Cross Seminary before being ordained an priest for the Diocese of Lafayette on May 6th, 1977. In 1981 he became pastor of Our Lady's Parish in Parma Heights and later served as pastor at Our Lady's Parish in Westfield before retiring on November 1st, 1999. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery with his wife Frannie and three children: Patrick (1957-2009), Danielle (1974-2001), Darlene (1982-2003).
