Shelbyville is a small town in north central Indiana. The population was 2,857 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hammond, IN Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first person to settle in Shelbyville was John Shelby and his family in 1814. He erected a log cabin on the banks of the White River. The town was named for him and his wife, Eliza (née Goodyear). John's son, James Wistar Shelby, also moved to Shelbyville in 1814 and began clearing land for farming. He built a cabin on what is now Summit Street and called it "Homespun." In 1830, James' son-in-law Benjamin Fenton bought land adjoining Homespun from James Wistar Shelby and started calls it "Fenton's Ford." In 1835, Fenton donated all of his land east of US-6 to establish what would become Shelbyville. In 1840, Samuel Capps founded the City of Shelbyville as a village located along what is now US-6 outside of present day Henderson Township. A post office was established at this location in 1841, but no further action occurred until1851 when Abraham Lincoln arrived at Henderson Township for his campaign stop on November 6th and ordered Postmaster Abel Davenport to establish a new post office there. Davenport did so and the name change to "Shelbyville" due to its proximity to Lincoln's campaign headquarters which were then located just south of town on White River Road (later State Route 66). The city had an estimated population of 100 people by 1860; however this number plunged below 50 by 1870 because much of the original rural area within present day Henderson Township had been absorbed into neighboring townships during that time period pursuant to local governments consolidation efforts known as "the Great Indian Removal". By 1880 only 4 residents remained living within downtown Harrisonburg limits while 9 others lived outlying areas such as eastside or westside hills near US-6 between Harrisonburg Boulevard/SR 66 and Whitesburg Rd./SR 30/White River Rd.. This decline continued until 1890 when only 1 resident remained living within downtown Harrisonburg limits with 14 others residing outlying areas including eastside or westside hills near US-6 between Harrisonburg Boulevard/SR 66 and Whitesburg Rd./SR 30/White River Rd.. After 1850 most residents gradually moved away from downtown Harrisonburg either into more suburban surroundings such as eastern Hillsboro Township or western Shawnee County where they could find affordable housing or continue working off their farms although some did remain until after World War II when they engaged in various types of manufacturing businesses including plastics production etcetera Within city limits there were few major development initiatives during any given decade although several modest projects were undertaken such as expanding water supplies through installation of reverse osmosis systems during the 1970s which greatly increased water availability for citizens despite occasional shortages; increasing streetlights throughouttownship beginning around 1990 which greatly improved night visibility without negatively impacting morning sunlight conditions; establishing parkland adjacent courthouse in early 2000 which has been home to numerous events including country music concerts over recent years

In 2002, Williams Corporation released a high capacity kit that contained twenty 3” diameter tubes that could hold up to 32,000 cubic feet of gas. It also became known as the “20-Pack” because it came in sets of twenty-four
