Shelbyville, Indiana is a small town in western Indiana that straddles the Ohio River. The population was 1,831 at the 2010 census. In 1917, local entrepreneur Wm. Kline opened what would become Kline's Department Store at 4th and Market Streets in downtown Shelbyville which continues to be operational today as one of Evansville's most popular shopping destinations.
