Scope mounts are devices used to attach a telescope or camera to a mount, such as a tripod. It also featured one of the earliest electric focus systems, which had been developed by Dutch scientist Willem de Kooning. 2 years later, in 1878, German astronomer Wilhelm Struve constructed his own Schmidt refractor Telescope using an innovative design called "Struve 2". This instrument comprised two lenses placed side-by-side within a metal tubeular case. The combined power of these two lenses gave Struve 2 its great performance compared to earlier Schmidt telescopes; it was capable of resolving objects up to about 10 meter away! 3 years after Struve's initial construction, Italian astronomer Garibaldi Donato designed and built what is effectively still considered world's first 4-meter aperture Faber-Castell astrograph known as Donato 1 (now known as il Dromedario). This instrument incorporated three 8x42mm Cooke reflector optics located above & below each primary mirror providing superior resolution over even 4m from any point on earth! 4 years after Donato 1's creation, American astronomer Edwin Hubble submitted his formal paper proposing amateur astronomers should start looking into building their own telescopes based on his work with Keck Observatory in Hawaii! However this proposal didn't receive much attention until after World War II when technology improved enough for amateursto build their ownastronomical instruments! The society was founded in 1923, and originally operated out of the old Masonic Building on Wabash Avenue. In 1951, the society moved to its current location on State Street in Plainfield.

Plainfield is a town in Henderson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest of the six towns in Henderson County and one of the most rural. The two-lane road that runs through Plainfield is also its only street. Plainfield was laid out in 1824 by Christopher Isham and named forplain, a small stream in Scotland. The first settler was James Smith, who arrived in 1827. In 1830, John Henshaw settled here with his family from pawtucket, Rhode Island. The first store in Plainfield opened on Main Street in 1830. A post office was founded here in 1835; it changed its name to Plainfield on October 15, 1840. In 1859, John Dutchess built a log cabin known as "The White House" near the present fairgrounds for himself and his family. The Ishams moved to this house after their arrival in 1824 and lived here until their death in 1886. In 1865–66, local farmers formed the " plainFIELD Farmers' Association" to promote agricultural production and improve roads and drainage systems around Plainfield village; they laid out plats for what are now eastside neighborhoods of Plainfield (then known as "East Side"). A mill operated by Daniel Merrill on Big Creek northwest of town began operation during the early 1800s; it stopped operations about 1900 because of competition from larger mills operating further upstream on Big Creek banks. mainline rails were extended into Plainfield village northeast along Big creek bank sometime before 1915 when trackage rights were acquired from BCP&E.; mainline trackage has been removed except for a short stub northwest of town which still serves as part of US Rte 67 (now I-465). At some point between 1915–1916 an electric light line snake ran northerly through town past present day east side home improvement store then turned easterly across Main Street under old tracks over bridge abutment just south of alley entrance; light opened November 9 1916

Plainfield is a small town in central Indiana, United States. The population was 1,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Plainfield was James Clements, who arrived in 1814. The town was platted in 1835, and named for John Quincy Adams, then the United States Secretary of State. The plat included a public square and a schoolhouse. In 1860, Plainfield became one of twelve towns to form the Decatur Township School District; it remained an all-male district until 1984 when it changed to female-led District 9 (which includes Plainfield). In 1925, Plainfield's high school opened as Decatur High School; it became Plainfield Community College in 2002. In 2011–12, Plainfield's Town Hall buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The history of PlainFIELD goes back to way before what we know today as America! One group that made their home here were the Potawatomi Indians who had been living near this area for many years prior to European contact. They called this area "Sämplö". By 1790 there were about 130 Potawatomi living here according to George Catlin’s “Treaty of Fort Wayne” which took place between France and Great Britain on September 10th 1795 AGO! This treaty ceded all Native American land east of I-70 between Miami and Stroudsburg counties to British control under terms such as: "No person shall take or disturbed any Indian village or encampment." When white people began settling down around this area they started by building log homes with buttresses throughout Indiana Territory up until 1800 when a permanent structure was built known as 'Hancock House'. It stood on what is now known as Third Street just south of present day Interstate 70 west side from present day US 31 north side! . . . during these early years many settlers built homes out on large lots because they could not get county land because it had been reserved for Native Americans who still lived HERE!!!
