The town was founded in 1826 by John Noble and his brother-in-law Ebenezer Porter as a post office called Nobleville. It became a village in 1869, and then an incorporated municipality in 1907. The current name comes from its being one of three sales points for land that led to the establishment of Indianapolis as the capital of Indiana in 1847. The downtown area has been extensively renovated since it reopened to the public in 2006 following a $100 million renovation project funded by the Hard Rock Casino Trust, which includes new buildings including a library, art museum, and multipurpose arena. The revitalization also included extending Route 13 eastward from Noblesville through Gary to connect with I-465 south of town; this project was completed in 2013. At the 2010 census, there were 9,811 people living inNoblesville proper (including its two villages), 3,574 households (of which 2,914 had children under age 18 living with them), 1,722 families (of which 1,522 had children age 18 or over), and 548 nonrelatives inside their homes who lived elsewhere within 10 miles when they asked about family members living nearby.

Noblesville, Indiana is an unincorporated community in Nobles County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in what is now Noblesville were two families of Englishmen who came to the area in 1824. They built a log cabin and started trading with the local Indians. In 1830, David Lloyd founded a stagecoach stop on the banks of the river near where present-day Noblesville stands. From this stop, travelers could see most of what was then known as the Northwest Territory. By 1834, when Indian Removal began, most of these settlers had either died or moved away to other parts ofIndiana or Michigan Territory. In 1836 Stephen Tilton discovered coal seams in what would become Noble County and laid claim to it on behalf of his fellow fur trappers and entrepreneurs James Fenton and John Witherspoon. These men laid down many miles of track for wagon trains carrying coal from deep underground to be burned here on their plantations north of Indianapolis so that passengers could enjoy panoramic views from their seats along the way! When Eastern Railway arrived in Noblesville in 1840 to build its line between Indianapolis and Chicago via Fort Wayne (then spelled "Fenway"), this important railroad connection helped spur economic development throughout Noble County. Today’s downtown core around Old First National Bank building was built up during this time by workers employed by Eastern Railway who came through town on their way to jobsite closer to downtown Chicago; they also constructed roads and bridges while there! Street names like Main Street (later renamed New Main), Howard Street (later renamed State Road), Lafayette Avenue (later renamed US-12), Elmwood Avenue (now called US-25) – all reflect today’s significant role that downtown Nobleville has played both historically and contemporarily within our community! In 1860 William Halsey bought 640 acres east of present day NobleVILLE from General Edward Arnold for $1 million dollars which he hoped would be used as a farming colony for African Americans fleeing slavery southward at that time! This early effort failed due largely to lack of interest by white landowners who preferred instead to sell land back into slavery than invest money into anything more than small holdings! However, over time Halsey managed to bring muchneeded wealth back into his hands by developing various agricultural enterprises including cotton ginning mills, lead mines and limestone quarries; he also became prominent as a real estate developer - buying large tracts of land near central Indy for use as housing developments such as Hamilton Heights/Wendover Park/Newport Beach; finally he developed some 8 square miles inside city limits now known as Downtown Indianapolis - making him oneofthe largest private property developers inIndy during those days!
