Gun hammers have been a part of the Noblesville community for over a century. The first gun hammer in Noblesville was created by George Stephenson in 1836. The Hammer Company, founded by John Fenton, made hammers and other tools used in theGunsmithing industry. In 1876, the company merged with Winchester Arms Company and remain as such to this day. In 1896, Wesson Firearms Corporation was formed and began producing pistols with an 8-inch barrel using a hammerlock system. By 1911, Wesson had become one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the United States. At that time, they also produced shotguns under their own name as well as revolvers and rifles for other companies such as Colt and Remington-. When World War I started in 1914, Wesson produced arms for both sides of the conflict including artillery pieces and machine guns. production stopped after 1918 but resumed again during World War II when America became embroiled in war again In 1955, Samuel Colt announced his new design for a revolver that would become known as the Colt Python (1955). This revolver featured a 5” barrel that allowed it to be fired from either shoulder without having to remove the hand from the grip. The Python was not only successful but became ubiquitous among law enforcement officers throughout America due its simplicity and low price point

In 1923, the shop closed due to economic conditions. It reopened in 1951 as the Noble Arms Armory. In 1977, the armory moved to its current location on State Street in Noblesville.
Noblesville is a town in Clark County,Indiana, United States. The population was 9,471 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The first European settler in Noble'sville was John Noble who arrived in 1781. His grandson, James Noble, founded what would become Noblesville on November 2nd 1824. At that time the community consisted of only a few homes and store buildings. By 1830 the town had grown to include a schoolhouse and many other early structures including a sawmill and gristmill which were built by James Noble'sson-in-law Deacon Griggs. In 1833 John Menges bought land adjoining James Noble's home for $2 per acre, which he used to build an even larger brickyard and corn crib located on what is now Main Street. That same year also saw the arrival of George Stephenson with his famous locomotive " Locomotive No 10." The stopping power of Stephenson's engines helped spur development in Noblesville as various businesses began utilizing steamboats for transportation services such as transporting goods from local mills to Indianapolis or Morgan County fairs across the river at large gatherings called "roundups". In 1836 William McKinney purchased some land east of Noblesville along State Road 362 which he used to build several residences, stores and churches including First Baptist Church (now known as First Presbyterian). After serving two terms as Indiana state legislator from 1840-1842 Samuel Morse donated land to form Morse Heights Cemetery on what is now Delaware Avenue near Tenth Street; this cemetery remains one ofNoblesVILLE’s most important aspects today. Local residents continue to contribute funds towards maintaining these important resources through annual flower/garden tours offered throughout May and June! In 1850 Edward Hines established Hines Grain Elevator & Mercantile Company Ltd., one ofthe largest flour elevators west of the Allegheny Mountains; this company continues today as Hines Elementary School District #1! On July 1st 1870 David Sanger arrived in Noblesville with his new shipment of wheat from Chicago via steamship called SS “Oscar” following days long journey! That same year also saw construction begin on The Methodist Episcopal Church (now known as Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church) designed by Philadelphia architect John Beal intended primarily for use withinThe Village but eventually became an integral partofNoble'svilletown life! Reverend J C Weaver served as pastor from 1892 until his death in 1922 followed by Rev Wm L Cain who served until 1984 before becoming Pastor Emeritus at Emmanuel AMEChurch! On October 5th 1907 Lafayette Stevenson married Anna Kappeler at First Presbyterian Chapel opposite Central High School after being rejected by over 200 other applicants! This event marks both their formal marriage ceremony and their entry into full public life together - they would later move back home permanently to live withAnna while runningThe Stevenson house concurrently through moving operations conducted outfitted inside their old garage onto present day Elm Drive!! Finally on December 4th 1951 Dick Grieve became Mayor after winning election against incumbent Harry Payne Jr.. during that periodMayor Grieve spearheaded numerous improvements including developing downtown properties into retail corridors such as Third Street south between Market Place & South Hanover Streets becoming One Hundred Second Street while expanding city services like expanded water/sewer service & creating parkland west sideOf Main Street immediately north Of Center Square !! Today Noble'svilletown rests upon its rich history & many milestone achievements both past & future looking forward!!!
