After World War II ended, many businesses closed their doors but Noblesville continued to grow rapidly with several medical facilities opening up including Allentown General hospital which merged with St Anthony’s Medical Center in 1978; Admiral Healthcare Corporation; First United Methodist Church – now Our Lady Help Of The Poor Catholic Church; Lafayette Community & Technical College – now Purdue University East India School; United States Naval Ammunition Depot No 1 – now USNA - which served sailors stationed aboard ships based out of Indianapolis ; and finally Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company building which served workers inside Goodyear’s Akron headquarters until its closure in 1984 In 1990NoblesVILLE annexed unincorporated parts of neighboring Decatur Township
