In 1911, the NRA merged with the National Firearms Act Gun Club to become the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
Noblesville is a city in Franklin County, Indiana, United States. The population was 12,542 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area. The original Noblesville site was on the banks of the River White in what is now Noblesville Township. In 1821, Nicholas Noble and his brothers founded the First National Bank in what is nowNoblesville. The town name "Noble" comes from Nicholas Noble's family name which was also given to the bank's building. After a few years, Nathaniel Noble shortened the name to just "Noble" and started using it for all businesses within town limits. On July 14, 1826, Lord Dunmore granted land to James Kincaid as part of his Black Hawk Purchase and this event became known as "The Battle of Noblesville". In 1870, David Witherspoon built a sawmill on White River that continued operation until 1913 when it was replaced by the present mill complex which includes two lighthouses and fifteen buildings. Witherspoon also built a store on Main Street in 1871-72 and another store on Second Street in 1903-04 before he moved away from town altogether. When President Grover Cleveland visited Noblesville during his campaign tour in 1896 he stopped at Witherspoon's store on Second Street where he had dinner with some local farmers and their families. Cleveland later said about this time period: “I felt very much at home” hereabouts because he could talk freely with these people about policy issues without fear of political retribution or personal insult….It must have been an excellent place to do business if you are associated with President Grover Cleveland! A paper written by Norris Halsey III discusses life during Prohibition days in Noblesville during prohibition era: Prohibition began officially in November 1920 with passage of The Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution legalizing alcoholic beverage sales throughout America (see history). On January 1st 1922 law enforcement officers were finally authorized to use force against bootleggers operating semi- clandestinely (in defiance of state laws prohibiting such operations). From then until repeal effective December 15th 1933 alcohol production totaled 3 million bushels while retail prices averaged $3 per bottle/case

Noblesville is a small, tight-knit town in the central part of Indiana. It was founded in 1839 by wealthy landowner Isaac Noble and his wife, Sarah. The townsfolk were influenced by the nearby community of Bloomington, which had been established in 1785 as a military post on the then-new National Road. In 1879, Noble donated 2,000 acres (800 hectares) to Indiana University for its new campus. This location would become one of the most important areas of research and teaching at IU. The townspeople soon started to make their own contributions to the community through their businesses and civic activities. In 1922, they voted to incorporate as a city. It is part of the Indianapolis–Marion–Anderson metropolitan area. The city has been named for General James Wilkinson who fought in the War of 1812 and again in the Mexican-American War. Noblesville was founded on December 6, 1795 by Major John Noble and Captain David Brown. The first settler to arrive in what is now Noblesville was James Wilkinson from Virginia who came as a scout for General George Washington during his march across Pennsylvania towards Yorktown. In 1802, Major John Noble laid out a town square on what is now First Street between Main and Hancock Streets which he called "The Square". On May 1st, 1805 – just two months after the town square was laid out – Captian David Brown arrived with his load of cannon ballast to lay down a track to connect Fort Wayne with Fort Dearborn (now Chicago). By 1830, there were over 100 residents living in Noblesville including storekeepers/masons/ planters/warehouse keepers etc., farmers and mechanics etc., many of whom had brought their families with them when they moved into the new townsquare. Outlets were created to support this growth such as First Street being widened to four lanes from three to accommodate more vehicles coming through; Second Street becoming an east-west street running from downtown; Third Street becoming an north-south street running from near Southgate House (now home ofNoble County Museum) down to Market Street where it met up with FirstStreet; Fourth Street becoming an alley that ran from west side of Market St down along Main until it reached Center Block just south of today's Webster Avenue In 1836 Mayor Samuel Morse ordered all streets within 500 feet of City Hall renamed after prominent citizens or organizations connected with Noblesville On November 20th 1860 Colonel Minton made public his recommendation that NoblesVILLE be incorporated into Indianapolis as a separate municipality On January 15th 1861 incorporation papers were filed with State officials setting forth: “That said corporation be organized under the laws of this State And form one government under one headcall Municipal Government Of Indianapolis” The first mayor & council meeting took place on February 8th 1861 at City Hall where they adopted ordinances defining municipal boundaries A fire destroyed most buildings within two years giving rise to difficulties getting started On July 14th 1865 Mayor George Stephenson issued an ordinance establishing rates for water service
