The goal was to score as many hits as possible within five seconds of one another with no misses or overshoots! More competitions followed until 1899 when the state Rifle Association sanctioned an event where individuals could shoot up to twenty rounds per minute while using only one hand! This led to increased interest in target shooting among citizens and businesses alike who would set up their own ranges across town. In 1903, New Albany hosted its very first national air show which showcased American gunnery techniques against foreign counterparts! The event attracted large crowds who came to watch various types of firearms being demonstrated including handguns, shotguns, rifles, cannons, etc… It is still considered one of the most important events in target shooting history! Target Holder No.1 was built in 1924 by Michale Jurasiewicz after years of design work with his brother John (the original Target Holder). During this time many African American businesses also opened up including grocery stores, cotton gin operations and bakeries; these businesses helped support local economy while providing work opportunities for black residents. In 1915-16 local officials constructed what is now known as Main Street which linked downtown with several smaller streets that served various functions such as post office boxes, churches, schools and residences; Main Street marked an important turning point for local development which would continue through decades of growth until becoming fully developed during World War II when infrastructure requirements increased significantly following both world wars Output from companies like Carrier Corporation led to increased demand for jobs in eastern Indiana while Downtown received large amounts of investments that has preserved much of its original character today; today’s downtown district encompass over 100 businesses totaling more than $1 billion worth of economic activity
