Additional streets were added over time including Elm Street (now Woodward Avenue), Center Street (now South Main Street), Southern Boulevard (now US- 20), Arlington Road/US- 12/US- 466, Masonic Road/SR 515, Broad Ripple Drive (now US- 40) – all now part of downtown Munster –and finally High School Lane which runs parallel to I-69 Exit 255 north of town limits just north of Indianola Elementary School damming up Big Creek à la carte swimming area providing Lake Michigan access from downtown while still allowing access down into town off High School Lane during high water times when water levels go down low enough to be crossed without getting wetting one’s clothes etc.. One result of Mr. Morse's efforts was that by 1840 there were three stores in town: two general store properties on Center Street between Elm and Southern Boulevards -owned by John Fenton & Co.;[1] one store operated by Cornelius Funk on High School Lane between Western Boulevard and Masonic Roads -owned by Abram Goode;[2]and one store operated by Aiken & Son on Broadway between Elm Streets west of Parkerville Cemetery -owned by Ebenezer Aiken Jr., son of Ebenezer Aiken Sr..
