Merrillville, Indiana is a small town in the southern part of the United States. It was founded in 1837 by John Merrill and his wife Catharine. The town became an important center for gun manufacturing during the 1800s. In 1865, Merrillville was renamed Indianapolis after General Andrew Johnson. In 1924, the city annexed neighboring towns, including Merrillville. Today, Merrillville is a tiny community with a population of only about 800 people. The history of soft gun cases starts with John Merrill and his wife Catharine who started manufacturing guns in 1837 in what is now known as Merrillville,Indiana. John’s father had been a firearms maker back in England and he took over some of his father’s business when he came to America. After many years of success,John passed away in 1840 but his wife continued to make GUNS with her husband’s help until their deaths in 1845 and 1850 respectively. She was then able to start her own company which she named “Catharine Manufacturing Co., Ltd” until her death circa 1865 when it merged into “Merrillviling Machine Works Ltd” which still exists today as “Merrillviling Machine Works Incorporated”). With Catharine’s death came much sorrow for the company as it was unable to replace her Lossy QC pistol case factory (which closed down around 1911) due to Catarina being cremated at that time! However, through hard work and persistence over many years by several employees at MRMWL, they were eventually able to reopen the plant (renamed as The Armoury) back up and running once again – all without Catarina ever having any knowledge or involvement! However this happy story does not end there though – Crossman Arms & Ammunition Company INC located next door on New Market Street also began making pistols using soft cases starting around 1915-16 under license from Armoury Products Incorporated! This company continued production until 1984 when they too shut down due to economic reasons! However – thanks largely to current employees at MRMWL who have kept Crossman Arms & Ammunition alive throughout these tough times – we are currently enjoying another resurgence thanks mainly to our rich history including product lines such as our new Soft Gun Cases line which continue development today! Merrillville, Indiana was founded in 1824 by James Merrill and his wife Anna. The city is named after Anna’s father, John Merrill. James Merrill served as the first Mayor of Merrillville and also founded the first bank in the city. In 1838, a sawmill was built in the town and continued to be used until it burned down in 1865. The city also built a large flour mill in 1853 that still operates today.

After Alexander Greggs' death in 1830, his son Andrew took over management of the farm and constructed a more substantial structure which still stands today - this structure served as the nucleus for much of later development within town boundaries. In 1871, George Washington Carver moved to Allen County from Noble County and opened a grocery store at Sixth Street and National Road (#5) just south of where today's State Street intersects with White River Boulevard #1A; it remains one of only two grocery stores open continuously east of Interstate 465 since that date in Marion County!
