Merrillville is located on State Road 33 and has a post office with ZIP code 47401. Merrillville was founded in 1837 by John Merrill and his family. The original mill was built on the current site of the city's police department. In 1892, Merrillville became one of the first towns in Hamilton County to have electric lights and streetlights. The city annexed portions of neighboring Goshen in 1907 and 1912; those annexations did not bring about any significant changes to the demographics or physical surroundings of either community. However, unlike Goshen which had been primarily agricultural until around 1920 when its population began to grow rapidly because of industrial developments nearby, Merrillville had no such development until after World War II for which there were several explanations including lack thereof due to political correctness or simply an inertia that took hold over time as newer technologies came along (the area now known as University Park also experienced some growth during this time). In 1984, Merrillville became home to Purdue University's new Research Park Comprehensive Plan campus following plans announced by then-President Ronald Reagan as part of his "New American Economy" initiative. Included within that plan was$2 million for research and development at Purdue involving technology transfer from other universities across America. Today, much like many other aspects associated with that era in American history - including numerous high-tech companies headquartered within easy access by major metropolitan areas - Purdue's Research Park Campus remains one of downtown Purdue's most distinguishing features both physically and economically today

This movement causes gas to escape from both chambers of the gun, which forms an explosive force that pushing forward on either side of the cartridge case (known as fouling) creates recoil forces which push it back up into position on top of another cartridge case (known as feeding). With modern ammunition this process can be automated so that all rounds are fed without having to manually move them around

Merrillville is located on the east bank of the White River and on the extreme southwestern edge of Wabash County. Merrillville was founded by George Merrill in late 1814 as a post office called Merrillstown. In 1829, it became a city and was renamed after James Merrill, one of the founders of Indianapolis. The city grew rapidly during the 19th century; by 1900, it had over 50 businesses and 350 residents. By 1907, when Indianapolis merged with Chicago to form an enlarged Indianapolis metropolitan area, Merrillville had shrunk to just over 100 people and two businesses. However, its status as an agricultural center continued to be strong through much of this time; in 1914, for example, it was among 5% of all farms in Indiana that produced milk products. In 1930, whenIndiana enacted Prohibition*, Merrillville became one of four cities within five miles (8 km) of Indianapolis that did not choose to join prohibition*. The other three were Terre Haute*, Independencia* and Hammondsport*. In 1935-1936 *the first full year* without prohibition*, Merrillville experienced some significant economic growth due to increased business activity caused by tourism from across Indiana.* This growth reversed once prohibition ended; however *much like many other small towns throughout Indiana which experienced heavy job losses during repeal*., most residents slowly returned to their pre-prohibition ways.* Businesses back returned to normal within a few years following repeal although some temporary damage may have been done due to lack of regulation during these years*. Today*, though still largely unaffected by Prohibition*, there is limited alcohol sales only at restaurants within city limits**
Merrillville was founded in 1813 by Nicholas Merrill and his family. The city became a permanent community in 1852 when it merger with nearby Avon. The first library, the Temperance Female Library, was built in 1857.
