In 1932, General Motors Corporation purchasedholster manufacturer L.D. Holsters and Arms, Inc., and this led to the introduction of a number of new products by the company including Colt 1911 revolvers (1932), Glock pistols (1935), and Smith & Wesson revolvers (1936). In 1938, L.D. Holsters merged with Weiser Firearms Company to form Weiser-Holstered Devices Corporation which continued producing holsters until its acquisition by Blackwater Worldwide in 2003.

Logansport, Indiana is a small town located in Logansport County, Indiana. The population was 8,187 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Logansport County and part of the Lafayette, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what is now Logansport County was made by David Logan in 1814. A post office called Logan was established in 1826 and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1960. From 1830 to 1840, loggers from Canada traveled through Logansport on their way to sell lumber in Illinois. American settlers started arriving here beginning in the early 1800s and by 1827 there were 9 families living here. By 1841, there were 21 families residing here. By 1870, there were 90 families here. In 1881, John Dorman erected a sawmill on the site of present-day Fort Wayne University which became one of the most important mills in Logansport County during that time period. The mill continued to be operated until it closed its doors for good around 1951. Today Fort Wayne University still has an ongoing relationship with this mill as both students and staff use it for instruction purposes as well as storage while renovation work is done on the building next door (the old Administration Building). During World War II much of Logansport's heavy manufacturing took place at two plants operated by United States Steel: one on Main Street and another downtown off Third Street which produced munitions such as aircraft parts and tanks; both plants were destroyed by fire during World War II but have since been rehabilitated and are used today as retail outlets primarily due to their former military significance! In addition to production activities at these two plants downtown many other local businesses also flourished during those years including: a grocery store built soon after Main Street opened which remains open today (now known as Market Basket), blacksmithing shops (built specifically for weapons production during wartime), a dry-cleaning business (still extant), three banks - each with its own branch - along Third Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue which served not only residents but also people who worked within town limits; five churches – allMethodist - plus several private chapels made possible by city funding; four schools -grades K-12 - serving area children up until high school graduation including one which has been completely rebuilt multiple times thanks to public money; seven Masonic Lodges combined with eight Odd Fellows lodges helped support community life back then while still providing services such as lodge meetings/ conventions etc.; sixteen agricultural Implement Manufacturing facilities responsible for producing everything from tractors to hay wagons to plows; seventy-five service stations dotting every road leading into town providing fuel, food & ATM cards etc.; eighty-six restaurants serving various types of cuisine from fast casual eateries like Subway down to fine dining establishments like Asphalt Cafe & Jukebox Lounge among others! After World War II things began slowly unraveling for Logansorte following decades of growth followed by assorted economic downturns culminating with recession starting around 1980 which continue unabated even twenty years later when current GDP stood at just $8 million compared To $232 million when founded! In recent years some major changes have taken place within the community however most notably given that year's 50th anniversary commemoration efforts spearheaded by Mayor Don Whiteley prominent restaurateur Tim Horton's Restaurants Incorporated along with numerous civic members & businesses decided upon plans involving digitized photos / videos being displayed throughout nearly every inch of downtown core depicting everyday life across forty+ years while simultaneously hosting numerous social events featuring live music / fireside chats (& more) throughout!!!
Logansport, Indiana was founded in 1788 by Captain John Logans and his wife. The first cabin was built on the site of present-day Logansport High School. In 1812, Colonel James Wilkinson donated land to the town for a courthouse and square. The first school was built in 1814. A post office was established in 1817, and loggers mined coal here until 1865. Logansport became an incorporated village in 1871. It became a city in 1907.
