In 1870, the first electric light system was installed in Logansport. The Town Council voted to buy two Siemens streetlights for use by the community lighting system. The lights were initialed on October 15th, 1870 and began operations on November 1st. In 1875, an express railway link between Chicago and Indianapolis openedup with goods trains traveling along both sides of the river at night time to bring supplies into Logansport from Indiana's growing agricultural industry
Logansport is a city in Logansport County, Indiana, United States. The population was 539 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Logansport–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1824 and incorporated as a town in 1868. In 1906, the city merged with Fayetteville to form one municipality.
