Lebanon, Indiana is a city in and the county seat of Lebanon Township, in LaPorte County, Indiana. The population was 7,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The Lebanese community first settled in present-day Lebanon Township on the banks of the White River in 1827. In 1881, they established what is now known as Lebanese Aid Society which provided social services to immigrants and their families living in LaPorte County. By 1907, there were over 1,000 Lebanese residents living in Lebanon Township. In 1990, when LaPorte County merged with neighboring Posey County to form Howard County, Lebanon became one of twelve cities that did not join the new county. The City Council voted to leave Howard County but later reversed its decision and joined the newly created county. Lebanon was founded by George Washington Carver who purchased 3 acres (1 ha) of land from John Prentice for $500 on March 12, 1887. Carver built a small wooden house on this property which he named Mount Pleasant after his old home near Cincinnati where he had lived during his childhood years before moving south to Lafayette College (now Purdue University). In 1893-1894 Carver ran unsuccessfully for Congress as a Republican against incumbent Hoosier Democrat James Mapeson Jr.. He also served as president pro tempore of La Porte County State Senate from 1897-1901 and 1902-1903 under Governor Enoch Pratt Morton while serving as mayor of Terre Haute from 1903-1904; he also chaired the state's delegation to Paris World Exposition held in 1904; however he lost both elections due largely to party fusion within the then three major branches of Indiana government during those years: House Speaker William McKinley appointed him United States Senator fromIndiana – succeeding Morton – running unopposed despite being out of office for six months total between fills due primarily to term limitsimposed by General Grant’s Executive Order No 9310 issued December 15th 1901 through January 1st 1902 following his appointment as Director General Of Agriculture...During this time period Mr. Carver resided at 219 Walnut Street until 1906 when he moved into an enlarged structure at 4115 Niles Road which still stands today...He was elected Mayoralty Counselor for America’s 20th Century campaign pollsters Harry Laughlin & Frank Jaffe reported that only 8%of Hoosier Democrats nationwide supported himWrote one observer “I cannot help but be impressed by these clean cut boys [who] represent everything that has been wrong with our party recently”Frank Jaffe recalled thinking back on that year’s election night when he learned that George Washington Carver had won an upset victory over well financed Henry Clay Frick Incredible! This weapon was used by privateers and pirates until it was replaced by cannon in the 18th century. During World War I, small arms ammunition became scarce due to munitions shortages caused by Europe’s involvement in the war. Some countries resorted to using black market weapons made with high-pitched sound frequencies to kill small animals because no other form of ammunition existed at that time. However, this practice quickly came under scrutiny due to its unsportsmanlike nature and dangers for civilians. As a result of this criticism, many countries began developing legislation regulating muzzleloading firearms during World War I. In 1934, Japan introduced their own version of an assault rifle known as the “M1 Garand” which fired 5 round clips instead of balls or shot per cartridge like other rifles in that era. This weapon supplanted both European bolt action rifles and Japanese Type 97 submachine guns during World War II as Japan’s primary armament choice when fighting against American forces stationed in Asia Pacific Theater (including Burma). In 1945, following Japan’s surrender victory at Hiroshima/ Nagasaki, all firearms within Japanese military shores were surrendered along with their ammunition including handguns such as those used by officers and soldiers alike! After World War II ended hostilities across much of Asia Pacific Theater (except South Korea), various firearm regulations gradually evolved over time based on local conditions at home and abroad respectively. Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in the southern section of the U.S. state of Indiana on the west bank of the Roaring Fork River. The population was 927 at the 2010 census. It is included in Lafayette County. The first settlers in Lebanon were three families from Nazareth, Palestine who arrived in 1814 and built a cabin on an island in what is now Lebanon Creek. They named their new home "Easton" after their Easton Township (now Lebanon) neighbors. In 1828, another family from Nazareth settled here and named their cabin "Pinecrest". The community grew rapidly with several hundred residents by 1830. In 1839, two brothers, Elijah and John Green purchased land east of Lebanon for $175 cash and started to build a log cabin known as "Greene's Grove". This became one of the most successful log cabins in northwest Indiana because it contained four rooms with a large fireplace that could be used for warmth or cooking purposes during wintertime. In 1850, Elijah Green sold his interest in Greene's Grove to his nephew George Hosea Greene Jr., who also bought additional land around it including present-day Lambertville and founded the village of Greene which he called "Graceville". In 1852, Rev Jabez Bowen established Baptist church services here and soon afterwards built a schoolhouse which served as both chapel and school until 1954 when it burned down due to arson. This led to plans to build a new school but problems arose due to cost overruns; however, when David Witherspoon took over as mayor in 1955 he secured money from the State government for construction without having any technical experience whatsoever about building schools so that Lebanese would have one too! The old school building was finally renovated into apartments beginning operation as Lebanese Housing Authority Apartments on October 1st 1957! Some interesting events associated with this time include: Governor Richard Lugar awarding cityhood to Beirut on December 6th 1956; Mayor David Witherspoon giving presentations about Lebanese housing development at various national conferences throughout America; Stampede '57 - A Festival celebrating downtown Beirut's incorporation into Lafayette County; inaugurating New Lebanon High School #1 on November 8th 1959 by Mrs. Jones • Today still considered an important event within Lebanese history

The area that would become Lebanon was first settled by European Americans who arrived during the1800s. In 1824, a group of Methodist Episcopal clergymen decided to leave Ohio for what they saw as an ideal location for a new church colony. They named their settlement after Mount Lebanon in Palestine. The town grew quickly and soon became one of the most important communities in southern Indiana. By 1851, it had a population of over 1,000 people and functioned as a stop on the Underground Railroad. In 1865, when Louisville & Nashville Railroad began transporting goods westward through south-central Indiana, Lebanon emerged as one of its main drivers. By 1870, it had reached its current size with a population of over 2,500 people. During the 20th century, several waves of immigrants came to Lebanon – mostly from Italy – making it one of the most diverse communities in central Indiana. Today, Lebanese culture is very strong within Lebanese community here in Indianapolis
