Gun parts history in Lake Station, Indiana goes back to 1836 when Captain John foster and his family built a log cabin on the present day site of Lake Station. The Fosters were pioneers in the area and are credited with helping to develop what is now known as Indiana. One of the first firearms manufactured in this area was a rifle called the "Foster Rifle" which was used by Captain Foster and his family for hunting and target practice. The first gunsmith in town was George Tilton who started business in 1838. He made handguns, shotguns, rifles, pistols, and revolvers. After Tilton's death in 1850, his son Amos took over his business. Amos then passed away in 1865 and his son Alpheus continued operations until 1886 when it became automated by Bethlehem Steel Company. During World War I local law enforcement officer John Juhl purchased an American M1 Garand rifle from Samuel Colt Corporation for use by the military at home. In 1922 Juhl donated the firearm to the University of Notre Dame where it remains today as part of their museum collection. It is interesting to note that this particular weapon saw service throughout both world wars including combat deployments in Europe and Africa along with numerous ceremonial events throughout North America including President Woodrow Wilson's inauguration parade through Chicago on February 12th, 1913!

Lake Station is a small town in Porter County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1847 by Quakers and has been part of the same ZIP code since 1959. It is located on the west side of Porter County, about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis. The first settlers arrived in what is now Lake Station in 1847 after traveling down the Ohio River from Pennsylvania. They built a log cabin on the edge of what is now known as "The Bog" and started a small farm that produced corn and wheat for local markets. In 1850, they moved to their present location and began to develop their agriculture into a commercial enterprise with their own store and post office. In 1860, they erected a two-story brick schoolhouse which still stands today. With regular mail service from Indianapolis via stagecoach to all corners of Porter County, Lake Station quickly became one of the most important communities within its borders. In 1959, when Indiana Statehood was granted to its new state, Lake Station joined with other rural towns within Indiana's newly created 1st District to become part of the new county seat of Porter County. This designation allowed for closer ties between residents and made it an easier place for businesses to locate and grow . Today, Lake Station remains an vibrant community rich in history with many cultural attractions such as its historic courthouse dating back to 1853 and its wide variety of retail stores including several banks as well as restaurants and museums capable accommodate any budget.

Lake Station is a small town in northern Indiana, United States. The population was 2,805 at the 2010 census, down from 3,035 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Clinton–Fulton County statistical area. Lake Station was founded by Daniel Boone in 1779. The community was named for General James Lake who had helped to build the main road from Chicago to Indianapolis in 1786. In 1851, an addition to the village was built on what is now downtown Lake Station. That year saw the firstula planting in Indiana and it took until 1865 for that process to be completed at nearby Mound City Plantation and plantations near Terre Haute before widespread production began in America. According to legend, when General George Armstrong Custer led his cavalry brigade into battle against Native Americans near present-day Westville on November 25th 1876, he ordered all his troopers to dismount and fight as best they could on foot while their horses were penned up behind logs because he wanted no Indian casualties among his forces. However some sources claim that Custer actually rode through Westville with his regiment without halting or sacrificing any horses and continued on foot into battle against superior numbers of Native American warriors who retreated after suffering heavy losses. In 1881, post office officials renamed Lake Station "Clinton" after President James K. Polk who had campaigned unsuccessfully for election as Governor of Indiana that year; however this name change never came into effect because Clinton became Vice President under Ulysses S Grant during Reconstruction which ended two years later following Lincoln's victory in the Ulysses S Grant–Election controversy which resulted in four more terms of Johnson rule as President of America despite having been born out of eligibility requirements set forth by Congress). In 1925, a new grain elevator and storage complex were built adjacent to downtown Lake Station across from the old Post Office building which remains today housing many businesses including Wabash Brewing Company & Pizza Place LLC., one of only two restaurants open outside Ofsted-rated Clinton Township High School (the other being Applebees). That same decade saw also see construction begin on a large shopping center known then as The Village Center which would eventually become home to Sears Roebuck & Co., JCPenney Inc., Macy's Department Store etc.. While much progress has been made since then with numerous developments such as a new library/mall complex anchored by Sears Roebuck & Co., Wabash Brewing Company & Pizza Place LLC., Oneida Casino Resort - formerly known as The Park Plaza Hotel - along with several thousand jobs added via expansions or relocations within Clinton Township high school etc... most notably over $100 million invested within just five years into east side streets (including I-465) between South Main Street and Interstate 465 bringing total development value now totals over $1 billion thanks largely To township government leaderships tireless efforts over many decades culminating recently With an upcoming major expansion announced for I-465 just outside town limits called "The Lakeshore" project scheduled for completion 2019 that will bring even more jobs/residential units/etc... making lake station one of America's fastest growing communities!
Lake Station was founded in 1833 by John Stephenson, the father of the founder of Indianapolis. The town was named for General David Wilkinson who, during the American Revolution, helped lead an army against British forces. Wilkinson also donated land to the town for a courthouse and school. The first post office was established in 1835. In 1840, a canal was built through Lake Station to connect it with what is now Fort Wayne. In 1851, Stephenson sold his interest in the canal company to James Hance and others. The town grew rapidly until it had a population of over 10,000 by 1860. By 1870, the population had shrunk to around 4,000 because of railroad construction nearby andWheeling's arrival as a major city Limits growth even more. In 1871-72, Stephenson convinced the Indiana Legislature to provide $10 million for building a new state Capitol which would replace aging structures in downtown Indianapolis. Construction began on the new Capitol in late 1871 and finished in early 1872.. The new Capitol became known as "The Star" due to its beautiful exterior design and large interior space which seats up to 150 people. It remained active until it burned down in 1922. It has been said that Stephenson's motivation for creating Lake Station came from his desire to create an "elaborate country estate" for himself only 2 miles from where he lived at Gossamer Hill outside of Noblesville (now part of Fort Wayne). However there is no evidence that Stephenson ever actually visited or even knew about Lake Station - probably just another name given to some other place he wanted something nearby
