The history of gun lights can be traced back to the early days of autos. In 1903, a French engineer named Auguste-Jacques Conte developed an illuminated dashboard light in his car that could be turned on and off by means of a switch. The first gunsights used this type of switch, which was called an arc-welded reflector. In 1908, the German manufacturer Volkmar introduced a small, hand-held gun light with a red light at its center that could be aimed using a peephole sight. This gun light was quickly adopted by other countries, and it soon became standard on many cars. In the 1930s, American engineers created an illuminated dashboard light for use with firearms called the “folding spotlight” or “flashlight Beam.” This flashlight had two bright white flashes that were fired every second to create an amber beam effects similar to those seen in headlights on streetcars and buses. The foldable Spotlight also featured adjustable brightness levels so that it could be used as a personal assistant while driving or hunting. When World War II began, many countries started manufacturing vehicles with automatic weapons systems (AAS) in order to provide security for their citizens during wartime. These systems included both firearm lights and tracking devices such as radar detectors and dogs. Rifle sights were also becoming more common as they became less useful whenGunlights only served as spotlights while hunting game or driving at night when there was no need for another source of illumination
