Goodrich, Sr. Gun lights became more common as handguns began to be phased out in favor of rifles, and they remain an important part of community life today. The history of gunlights in Kendallville can be traced back to 1912 when Wm M Goodrich and his son Harry Jr created the first gunlight system in town. They used small Alma lamps to light up rifles at fairs and tournaments, making them very visible to other visitors and participants alike. This system was quickly copied by other businesses in the area, leading to increased competition and innovation in this rapidly growing industry! Today,gunlights are an essential part of community life in Kendallville – providing illumination for anxious drivers on dark streets or during emergency operations; shining brightly on the faces of shoppers at local convenience stores; or lighting up ceremonies such as Christmas trees or Graduations! Kendallville is named after James Kendall, an early settler. The first reference to a post office in this area was made in 1854 when the name of the village was called "Kentonville." The Kendall family were responsible for many important aspects of the town's development including opening up land for agricultural production and giving rise to one of Indiana's leading grain merchants, Mr. John H. Kendall Sr.. He donated land that now houses the main shopping plaza and several schools as well as a number of other businesses and residences. Nowadays, much of what makes Kendallville such an attractive community has been restored or newly built upon - including around two dozen restaurants and bars that provide excellent local dining options; three golf courses; two parks; six banks; four churches; three libraries; and numerous retail stores including Macy's, J & M Clothing Store, L&L Restaurant, Kroger Pharmacy and more!

Searchlights were designed to illuminate areas outside of range while concentration lights provided illumination within range for shooting at targets located close up. both types of light sources were very useful during wartime as they could be controlled from a distance allowing soldiers to fire accurately under difficult conditions.
