Kendallville is a small town located in Huntington County, Indiana. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Kendallville is named after General Andrew Jackson's daughter who was born there in 1810. The first post office in Kendallville was established on July 15, 1827. The town boundaries were amended on January 1, 1853, and again on March 17, 1860 by an act of the Indiana General Assembly. On January 1, 1972, Kendallville became a city under the leadership of Mayor John Laddington. According to the 2010 census, Kendallville has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,564 people residing in the city limits and 2,959 within Waverly Township which included parts of Kendallville proper as well as portions east and west of Interstate 65 including Georgetown and New Albanytownships (now part of Westfield). As per the 2010 census figures for both townships only 5% or 362 people lived inside their respective municipal limits while 95% or 3992 people resided within Waverly Township alone which made up almost one-third (28%)of all residents in that township. With just over one-third (28%) living inside its municipal boundaries it can be assumed that most residents in either township live within their own wards or precincts which are defined politically by their municipality instead than relying strictly on ward lines drawn from population registers. It should be noted however that even if only 5% or 362 people lived inside municipal boundaries this still makes up almost one-third (29%)of all residents living within those wards/precincts when taking into account citizens who reside partly or wholly outside municipalities but still must file taxes with their local governmentardless

Although numbers have not changed significantly since then aboriginal individuals make up an increasing percentage (<5%) due primarily to natural increase; however because these data are not tracked federally they cannot be used to calculate percentages for this community specifically In terms economic activity Kendallvillette has seen some growth recently with new businesses popping up throughout Harrisonburg County especially near I-65 & US 31.Kendallville was founded in 1837 by John Kendall and his brother James. The village is named after a creek that flows through the town. Kendallville was originally an agricultural community, but it soon became a manufacturing center for items such as wagon parts, leather goods, and farm implements. In the late 1800s, Kendallville became known as the "Silicon Valley of Indiana." Today, Kendallville remains a thriving community with a large population of residents who are interested in their local businesses and culture.
