A year later violence erupted again around Fort Wayne involving black soldiers stationed at Harper’s Ferry working for ConfederateGeneral Robert E. Lee aimed at disrupting Union attempts at shipmentof munitions downriver past Fortress Henry Hudson? It can be safely assumed that much more mischief occurred away from military checkpoints than what has been documented thus far! One must ask how much longer such actions will go unanswered before some real consequences are enacted following public outcry? Many well-known businesses were founded during this time including Puschmann’s Brewery (now MillerCoors Brewing Co.), First National Bank (founded 1830), Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company (founded 1837), Armour & Knox Manufacturing Company(founded 1857) and Masonic Temple No 2 which still stands today at 111 E 6th StreetAddress: [later] known as Lucas Oil Headquarters." In 1861, Indiana Statehood was granted to Indiana Territory following Indian removal from their lands east of the Mississippi River according to Ulysses S Grant's executive order 1038 entitled "Elimination Of Dwelling Indians Within Our Limits". This led to more business activity for Indianapolis with companies such as Myer's Department Store opening up shop within days (). During World War I Major General John Tipton organized forces from across Indiana into one brigade under command of Colonel John Wirt who experienced combat at Champagne Field outside Paris before being sent home sick with typhoid fever on October 8th 1916 while leading his brigade against Serbian forces that had invaded Hungary (). After returning home Tipton purchased land near present day Lawrenceburg which he used for military encampments until 1920 when he constructed Camp Chase located between Delaware Road/Highland Avenue north side and US Highway 31 south side along Delaware Valley Pedestrian Way or "Old Chase Parkway"Today known as Lucas Oil Stadium."Tipton would continue lead United States Military Forces campaigns throughout World War II including Operation Market Garden ()—the largest ground operation ever mounted by American troops—and Battle Creek Japanese Campaign (), also known asOperation Cedar Rapids ."[ citation needed ]He would also become oneof sixUlysses S Grant Appointed CommissionersTo study ways 'to effectually end our Government control over Dakota Sioux' . resultingin Present Day Standing Rock Sioux Tribe v Federal government et al case ." In 1830, Robinson and his family moved to what is now downtown Indianapolis and began to build a home. In 1833 they founded the first store in Indianapolis. The city of Indianapolis officially became a municipality on November 3, 1896. The population of Indianapolis reached 1,500 people by 1907. It grew rapidly during World War I with growth in Manufacturing and Services sectors; however, there was no significant growth until after the war when new housing developments were built such as Fishers Point on thewest side of Indy and Ball State University on Thirteenth Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Meridian Hill Drive
