The history of gun magazines in Indianapolis, Indiana began with the first magazine store opening in 1892. The store was known as the Arsenal and was located on Washington Street near where today’s Lucas Oil Stadium is located. At that time, gun owners in Indianapolis enjoyed easy access to a wide variety of firearms and ammunition. In 1898, the city fathers passed an ordinance forbidding the carrying of handguns within city limits. However, this did not stop people from purchasing handgun magazines outside of city limits. In response to this ordinance, two men named Fenton and Hirsch opened a rifle and shotgun magazine store on Southport Boulevard just east of State Street. This magazine store continued to be operated until 1954 when it was replaced by the current location on Howard Street. Between 1892 and 1954, there were six different magazine stores operating in Indianapolis alone! In 1903, Mayor Anthony Grelly established a committee to recommend ways to improve public safety within the city limits. The committee recommended creating a licensing board for pistol dealers and manufacturers within the city limits. On July 1st, 1903, Mayor Grelly issued an ordinance establishing such a board! This new board would help regulate firearm sales and use within the city limits. The first license plate number for handguns came into being on October 1st, 1903! The early years of gun magazines in Indianapolis were very exciting times for those involved with their creation. With so many different stores operating throughout town, it was difficult to find one that had what you were looking for! In 1814, Indiana became the 19th state to be admitted to the United States. The area that is now Indianapolis was part of what was known as the Northwest Territory and it was in this territory that John F. Kennedy first suggested creating a national capital in Indianapolis. The idea for an American city came about due to problems with transportation and communications within the territory. The Northwest Territory had no road system and required travelers to take boats or wagons overland from Illinois or Michigan. The problem was made even worse by the fact that there were few resources available in the area and so development proceeded slowly. The first steps towards creating an American city were made when Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Walthall donated land for a military post in 1827. This location would become known as Fort Wayne. With Walthall's help, construction began on a small fortification which would serve as a base of operations for the new city. In 1830, Indianapolis purchased land from Major Joseph Henschel on behalf of General Harrison Gray Otis who wanted to establish an arsenal in central Indiana to protect against French aggression. Construction on more important infrastructure such as streets, water systems, and public buildings began soon after this purchase. The growth of Indianapolis continued during the 1830s and 1840s thanks largely toobejections by other cities in central Indiana to build near their economic centers because they felt that Indianapolis lacked its ownsufficient infrastructure or market potential (Fowler 2009). However, despite these challenges, progress was being made towards becoming an American city; both physically and culturally (Davenport 2005). By 1840, most of downtown had been built out with numerous businesses opening up along State Street (the original commercial artery) while Canal Street served as home to many Irish-owned shops serving easterners living in nearby Chicago (Collins 2003). During this time period too, Indianapolis started developing its political structure which would play a significant role during later years (Willis 1989: xi-xii). On September 15th 1845 – one year after he took office – Andrew Johnson issued his famous “New Deal” speech promising sweeping changes for Americans across all levels of society including large scale investment into education, housing reform, job creation through government programs such as social security and agricultural relief etc.. This speech marked yet another step forward for Indy since Johnson openly spoke out against what he saw as obstructionist policies coming from Congress at that time (Becker 1978: 142). It wasn't until much later when things started unraveling within Washington D C that Johnson realized how serious things could get regarding America's future - something which led him eventually trip over his own feet with Watergate et al.. A variety of factors contributed towards Indianapolis' growth during this time period including entrepreneurs seeking opportunity beyond traditional markets like agriculture or manufacturing; increasing competition from larger cities outside of central Indiana; increased funding available via private donations/the federal government;[1]and finally advancesin transportation technology which allowed goods and people traveling between different parts of America without havingto rely on boat travel or wagon traffic

In 1847, the first party of white men set out from Indianapolis for what would become the United States. They were led by General Michael O’Hara and consisted of 11 men. The group arrived at Fort Dearborn on November 5, 1847. The U.S. government had just completed construction of the fort and it was not yet finished, so the party traveled to Detroit in order to take possession of it on November 12th. On November 15th, they arrived at Washington-on-the-Lake, Michigan where they met with other American travelers before moving on to what is now Chicago on December 1st. After spending a week in that city, they made their way back to Indiana on December 4th.
