Huntington is a town in Huntington County, Indiana, United States. The population was 9,965 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1836 by John C. Sigler and named for General Winfield Scott Hancock of the Union army. In 1870 it became part of Terre Haute, Indiana. In 1907 it became the capital of Indiana; and from then until 1959 it was the seat of government for both Terre Haute and Huntington counties. The first shooting protection history in Huntington can be traced back to 1836 when John C. Sigler founded the town of Huntingdon on land that he had bought from the Creek Indians. It was originally called "Hancockville" after General Winfield Scott Hancock who fought against Native American rebels during the American Civil War. Shooting protection began to be used in Huntington as early as 1847 when a man by the name of Anthony shot an animal with a bow and arrow while hunting in what is now known as "Anthony's old field." The first arsenal in Huntington opened its doors on July 1, 1861 during America's War with Mexico which saw many shootings across central Indiana involving farmers defending their animals from Mexican bandits or raiders looking for plunder or slaves being taken away during Indian Wars (1813-1846). As one could imagine, ammunition would have been very scarce at this time so guns were often just pistols or shotguns instead which made them less effective at stopping shooters than bows and arrows did at that time! Shooting Protection Act Amendments: On January 7th, 1937, Section 8(a) of act I Of 1935 provided that all handguns manufactured before January 1st 1938 must bear an inscription reading “Shooting Protection Act Amendment” or “Pistol grip safety” followed by caliber number (e.g., .45 Colt). This amendment continued to apply through World War II but gun production stopped once again due to war prohibition laws! On November 3rd 1957, President Dwight Eisenhower signed into law legislation titled “Patriots Act” which repealed most federalgun regulations including those governing replica firearms thereby allowing Americans more freedom to purchase firearms without worrying about potential regulation from state governments! This event marks one important step forward forgunownership since prior to this period any US citizen could possess any firearm they wanted not just registered rifles/guns!

According to 2000 census data, there are 464 households with incomes under $30K; 51% are married couples living together; 44% are single parents with children younger than 18 years old; 10% have no income at all and 20% reside below poverty lines total percentage line (). In terms of race/ethnicity: Asians account for 7%, Latinos for 11%, Whites make up 43%, while 2% Black or African American residents live here (among those who identified as white). Hispanic residents made up 15% of all town residents in 2000 but compose almost half (49%) of today’s population according to 2018 US Census estimates . As guns became increasingly accurate, handgun shooters began using less powerful cartridges that did not protect them from gunfire injuries as effectively as they had done before. Huntington was founded in 1814 by Levi Huntington and James Caldwell. The town was named after General George Washington, and it became a center for the fur trade. In 1828, the Indiana state legislature granted Huntington a charter as an experimental trading post. The first store opened in 1829. After the opening of the Erie Canal, Huntington began to grow rapidly. By 1830, there were 1,500 residents in the town. In 1836, General David Cooking established a military post in Huntington and named it Fort Dearborn. In 1840, General John Potter moved his headquarters from Fort Dearborn to Huntington for safety reasons following tension between Indiana and Kentucky over land grants made by President Andrew Jackson during his time as president. The city of Indianapolis was founded on November 3rd, 1854 by entrepreneur Anthony Wayne with help from investors John Witherspoon and Isaac Buttler. Indianapolis became one of the fastest-growing cities in America due to its location near Lake Michigan and easy access to railroad tracks. On December 15th, 1855, minutes after becoming one of twenty-six cities in Indiana put on notice for annexation by Indianapolis (the others being Bloomington (1856), Terre Haute (1858), Lafayette (1860), Westfield (1862)), Mayor Hickey offered $10 per acre for land within five miles of downtown Indianapolis as part of what is now known as "Hickey's Addition". The city's rapid growth led to problems; business owners didn't want their buildings located near where people could buy food or use public transportation
