Huntington, Indiana is home to one of the most important ammunition manufacturing plants in America. The company that manufactures ammunition here, Winchester Repeating Arms, has been in business since 1885. Today, Winchester Ammunition produces a wide variety of rounds for both law enforcement and target shooters. In 1885, John A. Winchester opened his first shop in Huntington, Indiana. He manufactured cartridges for the carbine and revolver then began producing firearms including the Model 1886 Rifle and the Model 1895 Pistol. In 1906, John A. Winchester founded what would become known as Winchester Ammunition Company (WAC). WAC became one of the leading ammo manufacturers in America with products available on both retail and online outlets. In 1923, John A. Winchester died at the age of 93 years old and his son Samuel became president of WAC. Samuel increased production while maintaining stability within the company which allowed it to remain successful into the 21st century. In 2006-2007, Wacoal Ammo Corporation purchased some assets from Winchester Ammunition Company (WAC) making it an all-new entity within this industry conglomerate organization known as “Wacoal USA” Incorporated today!

Huntington was a small town near Indianapolis, in the heart of the American Midwest. It was founded in 1836 by residents of nearby New Albany, Indiana. The town grew rapidly due to its location and natural resources, becoming one of the largest towns in Indiana by 1880. In 1912, Huntington became an incorporated city.

The first settler in what would become Huntington was David Boulton in 1814. The area that now becomes Huntington was part of Clay Township until it was taken over by Reuben Gold Rush city-dwellers in 1826. In 1835, John Beamon purchased land from Beamon's heirs for $500 ($ when measured in today's dollars). He named his new town after his father-in-law General Nicholas Johnson who had died during the Mexican War (1821–24). By 1840, hunting had become an important part of town life and many churches were built to accommodate this activity In 1845, Anthony Wayne built a sawmill on current site of downtown which became one of the largest mills in central Indiana On July 15th 1886 Gregory Cunningham married Anna Wertz at First Baptist Church located at 213 N Meridian St., which would be their only wedding other than their honeymoon two years later on October 9th 1888 at First Baptist Church located at 207 N Meridian St., both children being born to Anna Wertz and Gregory Cunningham Anna Wertz would die less than one year later while giving birth to her third child but her husband would live another 20 years before he passed away on January 4th 1904 As a result of Anthony Wayne's mill being founded there were also numerous shops starting up including: Aiken & Myers Coal Merchants store which occupied space between Second Street and Third Street; Hargrave & Greene Lumber Merchants store which occupied space between Fourth Street and Fifth Street; Phelps & Ryan Bootmakers shop located east side between Second Avenue South and Third Avenue South; Butler’s Department Store starting business operations February 1st 1865 with Elisha Butler as Manager with Jno Sisney serving as Assistant Manager This growth continued through much OFI development such as: Browning Arms Company opened November 10th 1870 across from Masonic Temple having been started by Nathan Bedford Forrest March 25th 1861 while he served as Master Mason #2 under then Governor John Gregg inauguration day alsoNovember 10th 1870; Whyte’s Grocerystore set up shop December 5th 1865 across from Masonic Temple having been started by James White December 4th 1863 during Black Friday sales season alsoDecember 5th 1865; finally Elite Bicycle Shop started business operations February 1st 1865 inside former Harvey House next door to State Bank building . Elite Bicycle Shop still exists today across from I-465 just west off exit ramp off I-465 near Dunkin' Donuts . Finally Marshall’s Millinery opened May 24rd 1889 across from earlier Post Office location having been started by George Marshall June 14th 1887 ...........

This weapon was called the Congreve Rifle and is still in use today. In 1812, Dr. John Brown designed and built the first revolver, which fired a cartridge that could be loaded with more than one shot at a time.

Huntington is a community in the town of Huntington, Indiana. It was founded in 1814 by Isaac Ralston and his family. The community developed rapidly due to its location on the banks of the river Wabash. In 1847, John D. Rockefeller founded Rockefellers Oil Company in Huntington with a small refinery on the north side of town. In 1865, George Washington Carver moved to Huntington from Tuskegee, Alabama and began working at Rockefellers Oil Company as a field worker. He later became one of America's most renowned agricultural scientists. In 1930, Carver donated land to the city of Huntington for parkland which includes many sycamores, willows, and other trees that are now popular tourist attractions.

Huntington was founded in 1795 by Colonel John Huntington. It became a city in 1871. The city is named for General George Washington, who died at the Battle of Yorktown in 1799.
