From then on, gun handles were produced under several different names until they finally became known as “Billet Gun Grips” in 1995.

In 1792, a building was erected on the northeast corner of First and State Streets for the use of the Hobart Gun- Foundry. This became known as the "Nickerson Building" because it was used by Nicholas Nickerson, who founded the company that produced rifles, pistols and shotguns in 1805.
Hobart, Indiana is a city in and the county seat of Morgan County, Indiana, United States. The population was 19,865 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Morgan County after Terre Haute. The first permanent European settlers in what is now Hobart were three brothers from Ireland who arrived in 1814. They named their settlement "Athol" for Atholl House, where they had been taken prisoner by the British during the Napoleonic Wars. The town became known as Hobart because of John Miller Hobart's efforts to improve its location on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan. In 1836, General Harrison purchased land within present-day HobARTTOWN limits from William Davenport for $10 per acre (equivalent to $ ). Davenport named his new township "Morgan County" after himself and his nephews Morgan Kingsbury and James Ketchum. Davenport died in 1847 and was succeeded by his son Simon Davenport Jr., who sold additional land to others. In 1865, Hiram Garrison bought all of Simon Davenport Jr.'s remaining lands and founded the city of Terre Haute which then included much of what is today downtown HobARTTOWN. During this time, many stores and businesses relocated from downtown to make way for what are now government buildings or other large structures on Constitution Avenue near State Street which still serve as a focal point for business activity today
