Indiana is one of the most historical states in the United States. It has been a state for over 17 years and has many interesting, unique memories to share with airguns enthusiasts. One of these memories includes Highland shooting events which took place from 1974-1981. The event was an annual competition that focused on airguns and aimed primarily at young adults in the area. Highland Shooting Event History 1974: The first Highland Shooting Event was held and featured 12 different airgun brands including Winchester, Remington, Savage, Ruger, Browning, Marlin and more. 1976: A new range was built in the town of Highland Heights and became operational. This new range allowed shooters to shoot handguns as well as airguns. 1978: The second Highlands Shooting Event was held and featured 18 different brands of airguns along with a shotgun match that also served as an qualifier for the next year’s event. 1980: The third Highlands Shooting Event was held and featured 24 different brands of airguns along with a handgun match that also served as an qualifier for the next year’s event. 1982: A fourth Highlands ShootingEvent was held which included 28 different brands of airguns along with a shotgun match that also served as an qualifier for the next year’s event. 1984-1985: The fifth Highlands Shooting Event featuring 36 different brands of airguns took place which helped prepare participants for future events throughout the year. 1986-1987: Sixth & Seventh Highlands SHOING ENCOUNTERINGS were both successful with host towns offering hospitality each time around making it a very social environment where friends could come together to shoot baskets or play games while listening to live music outdoors (unlike today where showers are usually provided after hours). 1988-1989; Eighth & Ninth HEALTHY HIGHLAND SHOING EVENTS were both successful but only lasted two weekends due to high numbers of entries from within Indiana alone! 1990; Tenth & Eleventh HIGHLAND SHOING EVENTS again proved successful but this time they shifted their focus towards target shooting instead so there may be some continuity between shoots going forward!

Highland, Indiana is a small city located in the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 11,814 at the 2010 census. Highland is one of several towns in Butler County and it is part of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Highland was Peter Mullen who arrived in 1800. He named his land "Highland" after his highlands home country Scotland. Other early settlers included James Meeks, John Duncan and Alexander Barclay. In 1825, Scotsman John Grieve settled on what is now corner of Washington Street and Ridge Road west of present-day Highland High School; he founded Grieve & Barclay Typographical Agency which still stands today as one of the town's most important businesses. In 1837, two men by the name of Hays and Laird purchased 1 acre (0.40 km²) east side of present-day Scenic Highway No 8 from Andrew Cockburn for $100 cash only - this parcel would later become known as "Lairds Field". David Laird soon erected a log cabin on this property, becoming one of the earliest residents in what would become Highland Township (now Butler County). In 1840 David Laird married Catherine McIntosh from Kentucky and their first child was born there on October 9th that year – Anna Elizabeth Laird Hays (1841–1920). Anna Elizabeth became an accomplished artist and member of numerous local committees responsible for many aspects OF village life during her time as mayor/president pro tempore/etc., including setting up a public school system that still operates to this day! In 1846 Samuel Snively homesteaded land adjacent to what would be current-day south side Of Center Avenue just east off I-465 just northwest of present-day downtown Highlands; he named his tract "Snively's Prairie". By 1860 about 10 families had settled there – all except for two who relocated to form part of Atherton Township when that township was established around 1870: Isaac Matson & wife Sarah Ann Snively and Salmon Chase & wife Eliza Prentice Chase (1850–1924). Atherton Township quickly grew with new arrivals coming mostly from Ohio via Delaware Riverboats throughout the late 19th century; by 1900 it contained over 100 homes! When Indianapolis Municipal Court moved from its original location at The Reserve near Depot Road into newly constructed courtrooms across First National Bank Building on South Meridian Street in 1912, much discussion ensued as to where such an enormous building should be situated within our fledgling city limits – eventually it was decided that half way between Greenwood Village to the south and Union Station to the north should be its site! Shotguns come in a number of different calibers including 12 gauge (the most common), 20 gauge (lightest), 3/8 inch (.25 caliber) shotgun rounds such as 21 Savage powder loads or Remington XP ammunition, 10 gauge (largest), 6x19mm (.25 caliber) pistol rounds like Glock 17 ammo, etc. Shotguns offer significant firepower compared to pistols but typically produce much more recoil than handguns do so it is important to control fire rate while shooting during long range engagements to avoid wasting ammo
