Today, there are numerous festivals that take place throughout the year including Green-Fest on October 14th & 15th which features local farmers markets; Bluegrassfest on May 3rd & 4th; Harvestfest on October 20th; Fall Faire on November 6th; Christmas Tree Festival on December 12th & 13th; and Heritage Days events every Fourth Saturday of July which celebrates local history such as old photos from early Griffiths or demonstrations of antique tools or machinery used during different periods in Griffin's history

Dearborn County was created from parts of Wayne and Posey Counties on November 3, 1800 following Indian removal policies announced by President George Washington during his final months in office. At its peak size, Dearborn County included all or portions of eight states: Ohio (the easternmost), Indiana (northwest), Illinois (southeast/southwest), Michigan (northeast/northwest), Wisconsin (southwestern border), and Iowa
