Gun targets have been a part of the Greensburg community for over 100 years. The first target was placed in a wood on the corner of Elm and Indian streets. The village bought the land from the original owners in 1868, and put up a target range on it. In 1911, a fire destroyed most of the town’s businesses, so the town’s mayor built new ones at what is now Third Street and State Road 238. This was also when gun enthusiasts began to come to Greensburg to shoot off some rounds at local ranges. In 1913, Mayor John Sager initiated an ordinance making it an illegal act for any person under 21 years old to possess or brandish a gun without having parental permission. At that time there were no regulations prohibiting carrying firearms openly in public places in Greenburg. The first legal shooting match took place on December 9th, 1912 at First Baptist Church with fifty shooters from six different states attending. On October 6th, 1916 they held their second match there which resulted in two deaths as well as many injuries; four people died out of twelve shooters that day including one who shot himself in the foot while retrieving his ballistics report back home! In 1917-1918 they had three matches each year but due to World War I they stopped because of safety concerns about artillery shells exploding nearby during air raids! This lack of competition probably wasn’t caused by lack of interest or equipment however as other towns soon started hosting their own matches with better equipment and more attendees! In 1922, Fenton High School opened its doors and Gunnery Sergeant Tubby Ransom donated two rifles (one single action) for use by students at school; this was followed by another donation from Sgt Ransom in 1924 which allowed gunslingers “to take aim at anything short of actual persons” (Boyd). These donations encouraged others within Greensburg to get into Shooting sports which would eventually lead to Target Practice being sanctioned by our government as an official sport! 1935 marked the beginning of NRA teaching courses being offered through Purdue University Extension Service program with Mr George Beard taking up coursework originally offered by Professor Harry Elmer Ames . With these classes came increased interest from both locals and visitors alike leading directly to today’s Targets Program operated by our city government

The Gun Range in Greensburg, Indiana was established in 1906. The first gun range opened up on Green Road in the town and it functioned until 1914. In 1915, the gun range moved to its current location on Prospect Drive. The guns that were used at the gun range were primarily shotguns, rifles, pistols and revolvers. The ranges operated for a total of 54 years until 1978 when it closed down due to financial problems.

It is the largest city in and the second-largest town in Huntington County. Greensburg is located on the Ohio River, about 20 miles (32 km) west of Indianapolis. The first permanent settler in what would become Greensburg was John Fenton in 1814. He named his land for his plantation near Richmond, Virginia. In 1825 John Prentice founded a sawmill on the river near present day Green Street and renamed it Prentice Mill after himself and his son Samuel Prentice Sr.. The mill was destroyed by a fire in 1885 but its ruins still stand today as part of Green Street Park. In 1881 John Aiken founded what would become Aiken's Hardware Store which remains an important business district today. In 1907 David Ladd established Ladd Chevrolet dealership across from modern day State Fairgrounds which still stands to this day as one of Indy's most popular tourist destinations Ladd also donated land for Memorial Stadium which eventually became home to both the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football teams before being demolished following the 2001 season due to funding cuts by Mayor Greg Ballard In 1923 Indianapolis entrepreneur Wm Hargrave built Wm Hargrave's Steak House on current site of Central Bank Plaza which now offers dining options including a steak restaurant called "The Grill" that has been open since 1924 A two story building known as "The Gilded Cage" standing next to Crowne Plaza hotel during Prohibition Era served as headquarters for speakeasy social club called Dark Horse Club while law enforcement activity took place behind closed doors

Greensburg is a small town located in western Indiana. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Greensburg was founded in 1836 by United States surveyors under the name of Greenville. The first post office was established in 1837. The present town site was laid out in 1854 and named for General James Wilkinson who fought with General Harrison in the American Revolution. In 1865, Greensburg became a chartered village and it has been continuously inhabited since then. One of the first businesses to open in Greensburg was a grocery store called Kinnick's Grocery & Feed on December 5, 1865. In 1896, the Geological Survey of India published an report on Indian River Valley which included an exploration of Greensburg Township and its vicinity. Among other things, this document discussed potential sites for a railroad between Terre Haute and Lafayette (the future Indianapolis). A group of local businessmen pooled their resources to buy land along the route and began construction on what would become known as "The Indianapolis-Terre Haute Railroad". For many years this structure served as one of Indy's main transportation arteries
