Greensburg, Indiana is a town in Butler County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest municipality in Butler County. The first gun in Greensburg was a percussion caplock pistol invented by Amos Kendall and Chauncey Colburn in 1847. The first handguns were also percussion caplock pistols made by various companies including Smith & Wesson and Colt Firearms Company. In 1861, the US Army founded Camp Perry in Greensburg to train recruits for the Confederate army during the American Civil War. Many of these guns were used at Battle of Gettysburg which took place nearby on July 4th 1861. In 1968, The National Rifle Association (NRA) acquired control of Browning Arms Company which produces most single-shot shotguns and rifles sold in the USA today such as Ruger Mini-14s and Savage 10/22s. At that time Browning Arms was one of only four firearms manufacturers left remaining under federal government ownership after all other handgun manufacturers had been nationalized by Congress following passage of the Gun Control Act of 1934. NRA continued to produce handguns until 1994 when they produced their last firearm model – an AR-15 rifle – which they announced would be retiring production due to lack of demand from consumers since 1996.

Greensburg is a small town located in Harrison County, Indiana. The population was 1,818 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Congressman James Fenton Green and his wife Francesca. The first settler in Greensburg was Peter Hutton. He and his family built their home on the present day corner of Third and Main Streets in 1827. By 1830, there were twelve settlers living in Greensburg. One of the early pioneers to live in Greensburg was William Ladd who settled there in 1836. When Harrison County was created, Greensburg became part of it and its citizens voted to name their town after Congressman James Fenton Green on November 5, 1881. At that time, Greensburg had a population of just 160 residents! The Green family ran the store for many years until it closed around 1920. After that point, farming became the mainstay of the community as corn, beans, potatoes and other crops were grown for sale or use by local families. A small schoolhouse served as a primary focus for education until 1967 when a new high school opened which continues to serve today as the cornerstone of what is now known as “Greensburg” High School District No 2! In addition to our current high school building (opened in 1978), we also have two elementary schools (grades PK-5) – one on Third Street between State Road 46th & 47th Avenue NE and another on South Main Street between State Road 46th & 47th Avenue NE; all three buildings are used together for grades K-4! Our mascot is THE GREENSBURGERS! Today, Greensburgh has a full-time staff of about sixty people with an annual budget totaling over $24 million! We are proud to be one of America’s leading green communities committed to environmental justice through our work with our local farmers market partners such as Second Harvest Foodbank; providing affordable healthy food options throughout our community; engaging with local arts organizations including The Artspace Gallery; working together with other businesses within our economic development area to create green jobs through energy efficiency initiatives like roofing repair/replacement services; supplying groceries items like produce from our farm stand located just outside OFDEX Stadium during football games; hosting Elks Lodge meetings each month at Bearden Park adjacent to OFDEX Stadium where we sell chili dogs from Truck Stop BBQ during halftime every game weekend night.; working hard every day towards making sure that everyone living within convenient distance shares everything we know about sustainable living including how they can make more impactful choices already inside their homes!)

The first settlers were families of French Canadians who had come to Indiana as part of the Great Lakes Colonization Movement. Greensburg was originally named La Grange because of its rich loamy soil. In 1876, three-quarters of the population consisted of Swiss immigrants living in Gary, Indiana; one third of Greensburg’s residents were German immigrants from Bavaria and Hesse who founded a grocery store called Grosse Freiheit (Great Freedom). By 1907, all but two hundred people lived in Greenburgh Township which straddled both banks of the River North Fork; twenty years later it contained only 350 inhabitants. However, during World War II much activity took place within Greensburg limits: many factories were built here for munitions production and defense needs such as General Dynamics Corporation’s Mayflower plant which employed over 4,000 workers between 1942 and 1945; also significant portions of Army Ammunition Plant No. 3 were developed here including nearby townships such as White Flint and Evansville which served as storage areas for munitions while they prepared for war; furthermore, Greenburgh played an important role in helping support military activities with its generous supplies of lumber necessary to build tanks and artillery pieces
Greensburg, Indiana was founded on November 16, 1814 by George Stephenson. The city is the county seat of Kosciusko County and part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Indiana.
