Greensburg, Indiana is a town in Kosciusko County,Indiana, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Greensburg is located on the east bank of the White River and has been known for its gun magazines since before it was a town. In 1831, three men named John Ladd, George Stephenson, and James Brown built a ferryboat called the "White River" from Logansport to Greensburg Ferry Landing. They unloaded their goods there and took passage back upstream on the boat to sell their products again in Logansport. The first gun magazine in Greensburg was one that was created by John Ladd about 1832 as an armory for his Ferry landing business which he renamed "Ladd's Arsenal". The earliest reference togun magazines dates back to 1793 when Nicholas-Jacques Conte published his treatise "Le Carillon de Paris", which included illustrations of guns with case or stock made of wrought iron or brass. Gunsmiths were needed at this time because there were no locksmiths available to forge firearms components such as barrels and stocks himself! In 1831 two other men named James Brown and George Stephenson founded what became known as Keystone Manufacturing Company out of Greencastle (now northwestern Indiana). Keystone Manufacturing Company produced cannons and rifles for use by American forces during the Mexican-American War. The company also manufactured handguns used by law enforcement officers in America west of the Allegheny Mountains. After American victory over Mexico in1846 all firearms production stopped except for small arms ammunition used by civilians until after World War II when large quantities began being produced again! The first gun magazine in Greensburg opened its doors on July 1st 1830 with Armand Hammer’s “Hammer Magazine” just north of where present day I-270 intersects US-24 main street (the current address). This site would later become home to Wm Burden’s “Burden Armory” & eventually still stands today as one block south off Main Street across from Goodwill Industries

However, growth resumed after World War II due to jobs created by military basescampgrounds developments along the River Bend which brought new life to downtown GreenSBurg and other parts of town. Today, GreenSBurg is known for its arts scene - its festivals (including the annual July 4th fireworks show), its farmers markets, and its delicious food options available at several local restaurants including BJ's Hardee's Grill & Brewery, Pappas Bros., Gelson's Pizza Place, Chorizo's Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar/Barbecue House - all located within walking distance of each other on Main Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue (just east of US-2). Today Greensburg shines as a vibrant community that supports itself through arts and commerce while still remaining accessible to those who enjoy nature just beyond its boundaries
