The store has been located on Main Street in Goshen since 1873. In 1991, the store moved to its current location on Walnut Street.
Goshen, Indiana is a town in Porter County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. Goshen is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The first settler in Goshen was Levi Coffin on April 12, 1800. His brother Amos Coffin and his wife were also early settlers. The first post office in Goshen was established on May 7, 1802. A Methodist Episcopal church was built there in 1853 and became active in the community until it closed in the 1920s. Goshen has a rich history that can be seen throughout its streets and businesses which are still standing today. One of the oldest businesses still operating in Goshen is The Friederich Bros., who operated a general store from 1865 to 1974. They were followed by Herr & Kapp who ran an ice cream parlor from 1937 to 1959 before closing their doors permanently due to financial difficulties; however, their spirit lives on through their son's business operation called Herr's Ice Cream Castle which opened in 2009 located across from Heritage High School- another former grocery store property now used as an event space for various functions such as weddings and other events during the summer months

Goshen, Indiana is a town in Harrison County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. Goshen was founded in 1821 by John Goshen and his family. In 1963, Goshen's first post office closed and it reopened as a ZIP code under the name of 76523. The original town site only had about 60 residents. It grew to over 1,000 residents by 1924 when the Goshans opened a small restaurant in what is today the shopping center downtown. By 1960, all of Goshen's businesses were closed except for one grocery store which continued to operate until 1984. The community changed hands several times during its early years but stayed within Harrison County boundary until it merged with Terre Haute on May 4th, 1964 to form an even larger city with a combined population of over 10,000 people! Although many members of the original townsfolk still live here today (mostly retirees), most of the buildings that were once part of Goshene's lively commercial district have been replaced or demolished since then; however some remnants can still be seen around town such as the old schoolhouse which had been condemned and torn down only to be rebuilt again after being donated to the city; and nearby River Park which features several interesting ponds that date back to when Goshene was just another small hamlet on a main canal system! The first settlers in Goshene arrived from Lancaster County Pennsylvania in 1821 via wagon train led by John Fonseca and others along route Ohio-Indiana road #2A (now US 12). They set up camp near what is now known as River Park on December 5th following a winter journey from Lancaster County through Michigan Territory into Harrison County. Only 8 families lived there initially including four children age 3-5 who would later become known as "Fonseca boys". All other settlers came either independently or as part of larger groups across various wagon trains that moved westward during this period including #1-4 led by Capts Joshua Slocum (JOSIAS) & James Harkness (HARRISON), sons of Jonas Slocum (JOHANNES) & Mary Ann Harkness (MARY ANN). One group even made it all the way upriver to Fort Wayne where they stopped for seven weeks before returning home on March 15th 1824 making their mark on history with their epic "Walking Purchase" - purchasing land south of present day Indianapolis for $10 per acre! John Fonseca sold his interest in Group Wagon Train No2A in 1826/27 for $4000 dollars cash plus another $2000 worth Of goods he brought over from Pennsylvaniahis farm located between present day Warsaw Township and Decatur Township east sideagerry Road next door west side cornfield line [sic], lot 6 containing 25 acres more bounded easterly by said road….It has always been my belief that this purchase represented one large donation made possible due primarily to George Washington Carver’s gift of five bushel baskets full OF LEMON JUICE….. so much so I believe this particular parcel may actually have been given away free……..and subsequent investigations should provide confirmation………………… From this point forward our ancestors considered themselves “ founders”_________________________________” – History buffs will want to check out https://www.ushistoryonline.org/harrisoncounty/index_maintenanceobservationpdf
