Goshen, Indiana is a small town located in the heart of Indiana. The population was 3,711 at the 2010 census. Goshen is first settlement in what is now Goshen Township on December 10, 1824 by men from Kentucky and Tennessee led by Elijah Wood. The name of the township was changed to Goshen on February 16, 1849 after the death of Elijah's son Isaac Green. The early pioneers in Goshen were primarily farmers with some Merchants and others who did some manufacturing. By 1870 there were about fifty residents in Goshen and most of these worked for local farms or businesses. There are no schools within town limits but many people attend nearby schools such as Mishawaka (Logan County), Crawfordsville, and Terre Haute (Marion County). Goshen has seen many changes over its history including several annexations which have added more than 1,000 residents since it was set off from Marion County in 1907. In recent years some of the most notable changes have been the addition of a high school (now named after former Mayor Lawrence Jablonski) in 2006 followed by the construction of a new hospital/medical center adjacent to Main Street in 2009 which has helped spur economic development within town limits.

There are also numerous parks including Grove Park which has a pond full of water fowl and two baseball diamonds; John F Kennedy Presidential Library Park; Westfield Shopping Center; Eastwood Mall; Purdue University's Wabash Valley campus;and Holy Cross Catholic Church (Church of the Nazarene). In addition to downtown Goshen, there are other areas containing some degree of commercial activity: Southside Avenue Business District (); West side Avenue Business District (); North side Avenue Business District (); Northwest Side Boulevard Business District (); Village Green ; Hasse Road ; Indian Hill Cemetery (), White Sands Cemetery ().
