In the 1880s, a group of people in Frankfort, Indiana started making and selling firearm t-shirts. The first products were simply prints of rifles and shotguns, but over time they began to create unique designs. At one point, the company had more than 100 employees. They printed shirts for both private individuals and businesses. Firearms became an important part of the company’s culture and customers would often come in to buy weapons themed t-shirts that showed off their collection. The firearms industry underwent a major transformation in the late 19th century, which led to a increase in ATF seizures of firearms made without a license from manufacturers or retailers. At one point, the company was forced to shut down due to lack of funding. However, they regained some stability and continued manufacturing products until around 1990 when they went out of business again.

What is the firearm t-shirt history? The firearm t-shirt history began with large companies printing their own shirts and selling them to military and law enforcement officers. Eventually, this tradition evolved into small labelsprinting shirts for a small number of retailers. Today, there are numerous online retailers that sell firearms t-shirts as well as physical stores that specialize in selling these items. The purpose of this paper is not to provide an exhaustive history of all firearms shirt production, but rather to focus on one particular product: the Glock handgun shirt. The Glock handgun shirt first became popular in the early 1990s when it was released by Colt Firearms. This release coincided with the demise of the gun company Colts Manufacturing Corporation and new ownership by Cerberus Capital Management LLC which saw Colt Firearms renamed as Glock Incorporated. As part of this change in ownership, Colt Firearms decided to discontinue manufacturing handguns and instead focus on producing ammunition and other Shooting Gear products (such as rifles). However, the Glock handgun shirt continued to be produced by Colt Firearms through 2016 when they were sold to American Outdoor Brands Incorporated (AOBI) who then rebranded it as Glockshirt®/.380 ACP Rifle Shirt. In 2017, AOBI announced that they were liquidating their assets and would cease production of all products including handguns within six months labeled “Glock – No More” Today, there is a wide variety of firearms t-shirts available on online retailers such as AmazonBasics or Walmart while physical store locations still carry versions manufactured by Colt Firearms or American Outdoor Brands Incorporated

Frankfort, Indiana is a small town in Michigan County, Indiana. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Frankfort were forced by disease to leave their original home in East Lansing, Michigan and establish themselves on a new farmstead called "Frankfort" on the edge of forests near what is now downtown Frankfort. The first post office was established here on October 15, 1814 by George Stephenson with the name "East Lansing". In 1828 Stephenson donated land for a public square and courthouse which were both built during the 1830s and 1840s by local builder John Phegley. In 1868, the legislature renamed it after General Lew Wallace who had fought against Native Americans in the Indian Wars of 1857-1863. From its start as an agricultural community, Frankfort grew rapidly into an industrial center during the 19th century thanks to its location at one of several key transportation points linking Detroit with Chicago and other Midwestern markets. Major industries include cloth manufacturing (including production of lace), lumbering and automotive manufacturing; among others. The growth of these industries led to significant social changes in Frankfort over time; many Afro-Americans soon came to dominate garment manufacture while white workers increasingly became involved in heavy industry such as mining and logging. However, overall economic stagnation kept pace with social change throughout most of the 20th century until dramatic demographic shifts spelled doom for much rural America during that period - reminders that progress often comes at a cost
