This naturally created problems for soldiers who had to carry their Guns in both hands at all times due to this grip problem! Eventually, someone came up with the idea of having two people hold onto opposite ends of a common strap (a “gun slingshot”). This allowed one person easy access to their weapon while keeping it safe in case they needed it quickly without having to fumble with their grip when they needed it most. And so, gun slings became popular among peace-time militias and law enforcement officers as well as regular citizens who wanted quick access to their weapons when necessary but didn’t want anyone else holding them hostage! Today, gun slings continue to play an important role in our society. They allow individuals with limited gripping abilities or those who just don't have good hand-eye coordination enough dexterity/strength/speed/ability anymore (i.e., disabled)to safely carry firearms without feeling handicapped or uncomfortable using someone else's power resources instead!

On July 1, 2000, this proposal was approved by voters in a referendum and Crawfordsville-Westville Township became an official community name. The history of fishers goes back to 1836 when Andrew Fenton platted what would become the town site on the Wabash River for his nephew James Fenton Jr., who had married Elizabeth Wright (daughter of George Wright). At first there were just three families living in what is now Fishers: Fenton, Wright and their children Elizabeth (14), John (11),and Anna (8). By 1851 there were over 100 people living in fishers including 30 farmers, 20 mechanics, 10 teachers, 8 shopkeepers, 6 Baptists and 4 Methodists. In 1864 Nicholas Gist settled down in what is now downtown Fishers after he left Nauvoo Illinois where he had been general superintendent of ecclesiastical affairs for the Prophet Joseph Smith's Church. He started a flour mill which became one of the most successful businesses ever founded in central Indiana In 1870 David Ladd established a stagecoach stop here on his way from Terre Haute to Chicago via Indianapolis. This stop remains today as Ladd's Station Square which is also home to several businesses such as Joe's Pizza & Pasta and American Legion Post #532 In 1886 Samuel Briggs opened his grocery store at Fourth Street & State Road 362 which remains open today as Briggs' Grocery Store . From 1890 until 1920 Jno Pappoe ran this store which along with others did much to help promote tourism around this time period among other things . In 1916 local resident Harry Henschel set up an Automatic Weatherization Laboratory near Third Street & State Road 372 giving fishers its first real water system Henschel served as president from 1928 until his death in 1937 He also developed many advances during his tenure such as automatic weatherization technology that still prevails today

The name "Fishers" comes from the Potawatomi word for "the great water." The first settler in Fishers was John Fisher and his wife Hannah in 1825. In 1828, John's brother-in-law David Barton moved to Fishers from Elm Grove, Illinois. In 1830, Andrew Carver came to Fishers and settled on a farm east of thecommunity. By 1840, there were eleven families living in fishers. The Great Depression hit Fishers hard and by 1944 it had only 7 residents remaining. However, due to its strategic location near the Chicago metropolitan area and its manufacturing businesses (particularly paper products), fishing became an important economic engine for the community during World War II. At that time fisheries accounted for 50% of all local sales generated by town businesses during that war period alone! In 1967 when Johnson County was created from parts of Potter and Grant Counties, fishers became one of its first townships along with Terre Haute and Elkhart Heights nearby. Today it remains one of those few communities untouched by suburban sprawl that continue to thrive despite changes in overall economic development patterns throughout Johnson County over recent decades
