Firearms were used to shoot arrows, which were then shot at targets to fire rounds that would kill game or humans. The first firearms were made from wood, but by around 1600 they had been replaced by metal. By 1795, firearms had become so advanced that they could be used for assassination purposes. In 1853, a new type of bullet was invented called a rifle bullet. Rifle bullets became popular because they could travel much further than other types of bullets and can penetrate more than one inch (2.54 cm) into flesh. In 1865, rifles became effective enough to be used in warfare and it was during this time that bullet wounds started becoming common instead of just penetrating through armour like swords or spears did before. Fishers is a town in Johnson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. Fishers was founded in 1834 by Captain John Fisk and his wife Sarah Fisher. The first post office called Fishing was established in 1836. In 1840, the town had a population of 350 people and it grew to 1,000 people by 1868. By 1890, Fishing had become an agricultural center with more than 100 businesses. In 1916, General Electric began manufacturing electronic equipment in the city and the factory until 1957 when it moved to Mexico City. The city of Fishers lost its economic significance after GE left and since then has been largely self-sufficient with a small amount of trade with other nearby towns. The city of Fishers has experienced various expansions and reductions over time due to its limited resources: most notably during World War II when local businesses produced food for troops on the home front; following the war there were fewer business opportunities as technology advanced; however, fishing became an important industry once again thanks to DECnet (later Comcast) building a fiber optic cable through town that increased commercial fishing activity; during the late 1990s and early 2000s there were efforts to revive downtown retailing but these have not materialized yet
