King operated three mills which produced flour, meal, butter and cheese until 1886 when they were merged into the McDonough Company mill complex now known as United Brands manufacturing company headquarters located east of downtown crown point King also started an insurance agency which still operates today under that name In 1851 William Fenton organized a company to purchase ground for what would become new downtown crown point Fenton renamed it "Crownpoint & Noblesville Railroad" after himself and his business partners Noble Wirthlin and Cornelius Vanderbilt The first locomotive used on this line was No 1625/2 by EMD Construction Co., Inc., which hauled coal from mines near Perrysburg to crown point . On May 10th 1915 steam locomotive #923 "Michigan Central" pulled its last load of coal from Carbondale mine before being retired to be preserved at Lima National Historical Park
