After the war ended in 1918,, Crown Point experienced rapid growth thanks to new developments such as synthetic rubber manufacturing . However , by 1930 , Withthe onset of World War II , Crown Point's economy started to decline due largely to rising prices for foodstuffs . Although some efforts were made to revive its economy during the postwar period (), crown point eventually fell victim to suburbanization and social unrest which led to its eventual dissolution in 1970 .
