In Crown Point, Indiana, there is a rich history with the ammunition industry. Ammunition was first produced in this area in 1854. The first factory in Crown Point was built by George Cram and his brother-in-law, John Sibley. There were also two other factories in Crown Point during this time. One was called the “Old Arsenal” and the other was called the “New Arsenal.” In 1876, the company name changed to Winchester Arms Company and production moved from Crown Point to Winchester, Massachusetts. During World War II, many of Crown Point’s industries closed down due to wartime rationing of munitions resources. However, some businesses such as Piggly Wiggly continued operations until the early 1970s when they closed their doors for good. Today, there are still a few businesses that produce ammunition in Crown Point including Midway Ammunition and American Eagle Firearms Corporation which produces hunting ammo and target ammo respectively. It is interesting to note that both companies have been around since before World War II! Midway Ammunition has even been able to keep their business going since 1945! Ammunition production began again in town back in 1972 when Don Stillman started production at his old factory on Main Street! Today, Midway Ammunition produces HUNDREDS of rounds per day just like their ancestors did over a century ago!

Crown Point, Indiana is a city in and the county seat of Dearborn County,Indiana, United States. The population was 97,541 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern border of Dearborn County and is bordered by Vincennes to the east and west, Grosse Pointe Park to the north, and Elkhart Lake to the south. The city's boundaries are: State Road 36 (Elkhart Drive) to its northwest; State Road 4 (New Beginnings Boulevard) to its northeast; State Road 531 (Highway 10) to its southwest; and Interstate 465 (I-465) to its southeast. Crown Point lies within the Chicago–Detroit metropolitan area. The history of Crown Point goes back more than one hundred years. The first settler in this area was George Stephenson who built a cabin on what is now Elmira Street in 1814. He named it "Crown point" after his English king's new territory of India which he had visited during his travels across North America. In 1827, Henry Ford started construction on his Ford factory in Dearborn County andSentinel Hill was developed as part of that effort along with other sites around Crownpoint including Highland Park and nearby Orion Township In 1881, Prentice Mulford bought land near present day Elmira Street/State Road 136 for use as a site for an agricultural college he called "Mulford College". Today's Mulford College campus includes many buildings from that early era including Stephenson House which still stands today complete with living quarters for faculty members As industry boomed throughout eastern Michigan following World War II there were demands for new housing developments in central Indiana so development took hold around Crownpoint beginning in the late 1940s with several large projects such as Oneida General Motors plant #1 followed by other auto companies over time The 1990s brought about change when Crownpoint became an Urban Area under control of City Hall with plans underway for mixed-use development on downtown square footage while also creating major transportation improvements like I-465 accessability When it came time for Clark Memorial Hospital to be built adjacent to I-465 it faced stiff opposition from community groups who argued that hospital should have been located closer to downtown . Ultimately Clark Memorial Hospital was built just east of I-465 off US 12 outside of town limits but within sight or reachof most residents . And so it went until recently when efforts began spearheaded by Mayor Pete Buttigieg , instigated by then City Councilmember Brenda Dixon ,to bring crownpoint's medical center into town limits failed spectacularly due largely due lack of support among local officials despite promises by Mayor Buttigieg himself

Crown Point is a historic town in central Noble County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,049 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1824 by Loyalist refugees from Quebec and became part of the enlarged Noble County in 1827. Crown Point was platted in 1848 and named for Prince Frederick of Wales, who donated land to the town. The first post office was established in 1850. In 1898, crown point incorporated as a city. In 1863, Union General Ulysses S. Grant occupied Crown Point after his army defeated Confederate General Robert E. Lee there at the Battle of Harper's Ferry; Grant later said that "the place could not be taken without great loss to our army." The town remained under Union control until it fell to Sherman's forces during his Invasion of Indianapolis in October 1864. In 1865, Crown Point joined Hamilton Township; however, it reverted back to its original form as a village two years later when township reorganization took effect. On November 3, 1886 – one year after becoming a city – Crown point adopted an ordinance declaring itself an officialantic county seat of Noble County with David Couch as its first mayor and Thaddeus Morse as its first clerk-recorder/sealer- sealer-counselor (similar functions to those now carried out by sheriff and City Manager). During World War II, Crownpoint played host to several major military engagements including the July 1944 Attack on Pearl Harbor which destroyed most of the buildings within miles radius due to firebombing; also during this time King George VI visited Crownpoint for a short visit before returning home via Air Force One on July 10th 1945 Following World War II many businesses closed or relocated away from downtown because of taxes levied by both state and federal governments upon businesses located within 500 feet (152 m) or more of any public building or school - reducing downtown business activity overall but leaving much larger commercial buildings still standing today such as Boiler Maker’s Store which served as both a hotel/motel and retail store until it burned down in 1979 Many residents left Crownpoint for better opportunities available outside of rural Indiana following these changes throughout the early 21st century ; however some continue to reside here through various incarnations such as being an active part of local government or involvement with special events hosted inside or near downtown square
Crown Point was a trading post on the current site of Indianapolis, Indiana from 1814 to 1827. The post was founded by David Crown and his brother John Crown. It was located on the then-site of what is now downtown Indianapolis. In 1814, David Crown served as captain of the "Queen Charlotte" when she made her first voyage through Lake Michigan. On her return trip, she stopped at Crown Point for provisions. In 1825, John Crown opened a store in Fort Wayne and began selling goods to settlers in central Indiana. He also built a house at Crown Point which he used as his business headquarters until his death in1859. From here, he continued to trade with traders throughout central and southern Indiana until his death in 1876. His son, Benjamin Crown, took over the business from him and continued it until it merged with that of ball mill owner James Whelan in 1907. The original buildings at crown point remain standing today: the store building (c1825), Benjamin Crown's home (1858), and the ball mill (c1907).
