In 1935, Carl Wiegand bought the Clarence Crawford Sporting Goods store and continued its tradition of providing top-quality scope mounts at reasonable prices to all who patronized it. By 1945, Carl Wiegand had passed away but his sons continued their father's legacy by opening another store on Third Street called The Ricoh Company Store which would remain open until 1984 when it was sold to an unrelated party and closed down again.;In 1957, JB Hodge opened the Hodge Gun Shop on Second Street in Crawfordsville which would become one of the city's most popular tourist destinations for shooters and hunters alike; In 1979, John Fenton purchased Hodge Gun Shop from JB Hodge and reopened it as The Fenton Camera & Scope store which continues to be an important part of crawfordsville town life today.;In 1984, an unrelated party acquired The Fenton Camera & Scope store and closed it down again., As time went on more people began to invest in optics hobbies through online purchasing instead of buying new equipment from sporting good stores., This change not only allowed many people throughout Indiana to purchase high-quality scopes without having to go out into our state or traveling long distances., However it also led to increased competition among gunsmiths as they were now able to sell scopes that could reach a wider audience than ever before.; Consequently,, It has come about that over time there have been several different manufacturer/distributors of scope mounts available through various online retailers such as Amazon., Aliexpress., etc.. David's business success led him to invest additional money into land development including a grocery store, post office, hotel and schoolhouse complex that remains operational today as Crawford University Park-Crawford Hall Campus

The first post office in Crawfordsville was established in 1827. In 1851, the town saw its first census and it grew rapidly thanks to its location at the junction of two major railroads. In 1865, Crawfordsville became a city and developed into a major economic center within Indiana. Today, the city is home to a number of businesses and many residents are involved in various aspects of their community.
