Gun magazines have been around for a long time in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The first gun magazine in Crawfordsville was the Indian Pistol Club's Magazine which was established in 1868. The club continued to hold meetings until it disbanded in 1872. The next year, the Crawford County Rifle and Shotgun Association organized and held their first meeting. This organization would become the nucleus of the present-day Crawfordsville Rifle and Shotgun Club. In 1886, the Crawford County Rifle and Shotgun Association built a new building on Third Street in Crawfordsville. This building served as the club's clubhouse until 1959 when it was replaced by the current structure on First Street. Crawfordsville is a small town in Indiana, located about 30 miles west of Indianapolis. The population was 3,853 at the2010 census. Crawfordsville is part of the Terre Haute, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to settle in Crawfordsville were the Hudsons who came from Nova Scotia in 1814. They built a cabin on the south side of town and named it after their home country. The Hudsons were followed by other families and businesses over the years, most notably the Joneses who started a grocery store in 1925 and later became president of Purdue University. Many buildings in Crawfordsville date back to this time including the First National Bank building which stands today as an important piece of local history. Other significant buildings include those that serve as county court house and jail, as well as three churches – oneMethodist and two Baptist – all dating back to the early 1800s. Over time, Crawfordsville has become known for its agricultural products such as corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton and eggs. These goods have been sold all over Indiana and even exported to other states during times of drought or market saturation. Today, there are still many farms remaining in town but they are more likely to be used for production rather than retail purposes because of advancements in technology that allow for greater efficiency and accuracy when growing crops indoors or through managed irrigation systems.

Crawfordsville is a small town in Porter County, Indiana, United States. The population was 3,057 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lafayette, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. Crawfordsville was founded in 1824 by Englishmen who came to the area to farm and prospect for mineral rights. The original name of the town was "Crawfordsville." In 1851, the first post office in Crawfordsville was established. In 1875, Crawfordsville became a city and its name changed to Crawfordsville-on-the-Lake after Lake Erie. The city was annexed by Lafayette in 1902. The population of Crawfordsville peaked at 10,000 in 1960 but has decreased since then; it currently numbers 1,858 residents. The history of Crawfordsville can be traced back to 1824 when Englishmen arrived in the area to farm and prospect for mineral rights. One group of settlers named themselves the Griggs brothers and started farming land around what is now known as crawfordesville Cemetery just north of downtown Crawfordsville. By 1830, they had developed a grocery store and flour mill on prosperous creek which still flows through their land today - one of only two remaining examples from that time period still extant in Crawford County! Continued growth led them to purchase additional farmland between 1800 and 1830 including present day downtown Crawfordersville along with other property surrounding it until finally all but one acre (less than 0.5%) became part of what would become known as crawfordesville Township on March 12th 1792 when General David Stephenson arrived with his army from Yorktown Heights during the American Revolutionary War seeking new lands eastward into Indian Territory following his victory over British forces at Saratoga Creek! As this new township formed began developing itsown infrastructure such as roads or schools it needed a name so options were given to residents some suggested names such as "Crawfordstown," "Porterburgh," "Lafayetteburgh" or simply "Township". Ultimately voters decided on something less formal under which it would remain throughout its formative years - Township: which made sense because at that time there were no municipalities located within Porter County! With multiple grain elevators dotting central Figurenstown Avenue by 1840 (one built by James Fenton) industry began expanding rapidly throughout Porter County thanks largely to advances brought about by railroads starting up throughout America during this same era providing transportation not only for goods but also people heading out West looking for opportunities! This prosperity led some early citizens who resided within Township limits into buying additional acres outside it becoming known as rural areas northwest of town called Cooks Ferry Forest Reserve giving our community its current boundaries including much present day farmland along Cooks Ferry Road extending south past Lafayette into Porter Counties once again! From here begins another long period where development slowed while natural resources continually matured making possible both more housing units being erected during this time as well as businesses being born like Wagon Wheel Lumber Company & Grain Elevator Company followed shortly thereafter by several breweries like John Deere Brewing Company & Indianapolis Racquetball Club all coming online during this decade bringing many jobs + tax revenues directly to those responsible!! But things weren't always rosy for everyone living within Township limits due primarily to warfare ensuing across America during this same era often resulting inidas losses totaling many thousands lives+property+money leaving an indelible mark on our community forever!!! Census data from 1920 reveals just how challenging life can get when your municipality consists entirelyof farmers living inside their own townships!!!!!!!!! All told even if we takeinto account Carson's death certificate listing datelined May 25th 1865 - moments BEFORE Township Limits were introduced therein he most likely died from injuries received while serving 2 tours with Union Armyduring Civil War Era fighting near Vincennes Indiana under General George Armstrong Custer!!! Just consider that single event alone makes up more than half(56%)of all deaths recorded within our Municipality involuntarily prior TO Township Limits ever taking effect thereby causing an overall decline/dependence upon agriculture for economic sustenance!!!!!! Burgeoning industry didn't mean however all aspects OF society had To change& adaptalongsideit!! Many families continuedTo liveWithinTownshiplimits thooutthistimeperioddueinpartto difficulties obtaining Outside assistanceneededtokeep PropertyMaintainedpluspaying Taxes......... Today'sCommunitydoesn't resembleThoOriginalmuchatAll!!!!!!!!
