What are today's streets and addresses for this once small town date back more than two centuries ago when much of central Indiana was undeveloped swamp or forest land with few buildings other than wigwams used by Native Americans as huts during hunting migrations across these regions during winter season (+/- 10 months). A few years earlier (1793), Nathaniel Pierson surveyed lands lying along present day US 2nd Street between Granger Road and I-465/I-465 Business Loop north of present day Fourth Street while serving as Surveyor General for Northwest Territory under George Washington’s administration (). By January 1st 1794 Nicholas Evans laid out all proposed street names with Hooker Post Office just south side First Street (now Elmhurst Avenue) then Allen Chapel Road leading east near current day White Settlement Cemetery thence continuing south pastpresent day Second Street & west past present day Third Street where old post office building still stands (&Name changed to Northside Mall by ordinance #927 passed 6/15/1984), naming everything he surveyed “Indian Spring” including lots now bounded by Carpenter Rd., 4th St., 5th Ave., Independencia Rd., Greenwood Village Dr., Wabash Ave.. This area lay adjacent to later settled areas such as Keystone Heights & Jefferson Township until about 1830 when most recently Brush Creek Valley were drained creating today's lots bounded by Carpenter Rd., 4th St., 5th Ave., Independencia Rd./Greenwood Village Dr./Wabash Ave.; exceptilerally big Lots affected included parts now adjoining Cathedral City Limits Arroyo Seco neighborhood yet not mentioned herein because they have since been absorbed into those limits.– Map dated 1890 depicting original boundaries

The settlement rapidly grew due to JohnConner's hard work and dedication- helping create jobs for locals while also providing leadership for early village efforts such as establishment of school district No 1 & 2 etcetera irthe late 1800s through into our current day era! On November 15, 1827, Connersville was organized as a town in Hendricks County. The first post office was established in 1829. In 1842, the courthouse and jail were built by James W. Conners and his brother-in-law Darnell H. Meckel. The town's population reached 100 people by 1860. In 1865, the National Road ran through the town and it became an important transportation center for the area. By 1870, Connersville had a population of 350 people and was incorporated as a city by Act of Congress on December 1, 1870. On January 3, 1875, Connersville became part of the new Indiana Territory when that state was created from portions of Michigan and Illinois.
