Doering became an important figure in the community because he helped organize the local farmers into a cooperative society for marketing their crops and raising money for themselves by selling goods authorized by the state government officials responsible for regulating agriculture within Indiana Territory at that time (the so-called "Doering Act"). The first post office established atconnerstown was called "Hancock" after General David Hancock who represented Evansville on the Indian Council from 1795-1800 In 1842, George Witherspoon opened a store as Post Office No 2 near where present day Third Street meets Main Street After Witherspoon’s death in 1861 his widow continued to operate this store until it closed around 1865 In1872 Mrs A Fenton started operating her own grocery store down 3rd St N which later became known as Seldom Hall This building still stands today across from First Baptist Church across from IGA In 1906 Jakob Lantz post office opened up adjacent to Mrs Fenton's grocery store - this location would remain unchanged through all future USPS operations including consolidation with FedEx in 2006 In 1916 H C Brown founded J B Brown & Son Hardware Store on High School Road just west of current day SSE side street off 3rd St N currently occupied by NH Chevrolet dealership

The first expansion mount for the AK-47 was the AKM (AK 47 MOD 1) which allowed users to attach a variety of optics, such as a holographic sight or night vision device. This model also featured an adjustable stock and was used by both Russian and Afghan troops. The next model, the AKM-74U, allowed attachments of a suppressor and pistol grip tape which made it more user-friendly for infantry soldiers. The AKS (AK 47 SVD Mod 2) was introduced in 2007 which featured an extended barrel, better magazine capacity and raised cheek welds for better accuracy. In 2013, the AKS-74U MOD 3 added a 12.8” barrel with 5 round magazine capacity to make it more versatile for sniper use. The latest version of the AKS-74U is called the ASK (An Advanced Sniper Killer), which features an 18” barrel with 7round magazine and a bipod adapter so that it can be attachment to all types of rifles including precision rifles like the M4A1 Carbine.
