Cedar Lake is a town in La Marque County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,912 at the 2010 census. Cedar Lake was founded in 1836 by the Potawatomie Tribe of Indians. The first settlers were Emigrant Dick and Nancy Hines. In 1845, Cedar Lake became a part of Indianapolis. The first gun magazine in Cedar Lake was called "The Rifleman" and it was published by Jno Pugh from Shreveport, Louisiana. It had its start on October 5th of that year. At the time there were only three magazines in America: "The Rifleman", "American Rifleman" and "British Rifleman". The first issue of "The Rifleman" had an editorial by John Pugh which praised Andrew Jackson for his policies towards Native Americans. In 1860, when the state of Indiana changed its name to Indiana Territory, Cedar Lake become part of Kosciusko County. In 1867-69 four magazines moved to Kosciusko County: "Rifle Journal", "Texas Ranger", "Journal American" and finally "Indiana Review". Eventually all these magazines merged into one new publication called the Kokomo Tribune which started publishing on October 15th 1870 from Kokomo, Indiana but soon folded due to lack of patronage from readers/ Editors alike

Cedar Lake is a town in Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,859 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the Cedar Rapids–West Des Moines–Iowa City, IA Metropolitan Statistical Area since its incorporation on December 1, 1998. The first gun magazine in Cedar Lake was established in 1881 by John Laughlin and William Hickey. In 1892, the first ever American Rifle Association meeting was held here. The first post office in Cedar Lake was established in 1886. In 1902, the first rifle range opened in Cedar Lake and it remained open until 1954 when it closed due to lack of users and funding from the US government. The current rifle range opened on October 3rd, 2006 and is located off of I-235 near Cedar Rapids. Cedar Lake is home to two high school districts - the CedarLake Central School District and West Des Moines Central School District - which together serve over 12K students with more than 350 different programs throughout four campuses across thirteen schools that make up both districts: elementary (K-5), middle/junior high (6-8), senior high (9-12), college/university (13+). Additionally there are many family daycare centers as well as businesses that have multiple locations within walking distance of one another serving children from prekindergarten through eighth grade along with many other services available locally such as libraries, health clinics and golf courses
Cedar Lake is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Indiana. It is bordered by Vanderburgh County to the west, Kosciusko County to the east, and Tipton County to the north. The village has a population of 1,403 as of the 2010 census. Cedar Lake was founded in 1838 by John Hoadley and his father-in-law, James Kapp. The town was originally called "Hoadley's Crossing" because it served as a crossing over Cedar Creek. The town was renamed Cedar Lake after General Anthony Wayne's column crossed the creek there in 1797 during his campaign against France. In 1837, John Hoadley donated land to build a post office and store on what is now Main Street in Cedar Lake. He also donated money for a schoolhouse and road. The first settler in CedarLake was Nicholas Jernigan who arrived from Kentucky in 1836. He built a cabin on Cumberland Drive near present day Memorial Park. Jernigan became an early leader in CedarLake community development and helped create many of its famous landmarks such as Kapp's Store (now West Side Market), Old Courthouse (now East Side Market), and Gadsden House (now Gadsden Middle School). His contributions are commemorated at nearby Nicholas Jernigan Elementary School where he donated $1 million for education purposes back when that was still something new on America’s landscape! In 1840, David Lowry purchased additional land from John Hoadley at what is now Main Street/Old Courthouse Road in CedarLake Village. Lowry formed an agricultural cooperative with other settlers to help provide milk for local farm families and markets throughout Indiana until 1922 when milk production switched entirely to global brands like PepsiCola! The legacy of David Lowry lives on today through his namesake store which still offers quality produce today! During World War II, CedarLake played an important role providing munitions storage for the army throughout northern Indiana while also serving as headquarters for military intelligence operations inside Canada under General Dwight Eisenhower! Today much remains of this wartime infrastructure including several large warehouses that can be toured if you're lucky enough to spot them while driving around town!

This redevelopment has brought new life to the community and has helped it rebound from its past decline.
Cedar Lake was a major water supply for the area until the 1920s. The Cedar River drained into the lake and then out to the Indiana River.
