These businesses were founded by two brothers, Hiram and Charles Wohlgemuth. They started the shop on State Street in Carmel in 1907. It was located next to the old post office. In 1926, they opened a store on Third Street in Carmel. This store was known as The Camera Store until it closed in 1978. The Optical Shop is still open today and sells a wide variety of optical products including cameras, binoculars, telescopes, watches, sunglasses, and other types of optics equipment. They also offer lens cleaning supplies and repair services. The Camera Store was established by Mr. Harry Cramer who also owned the adjacent Laundromat on Third Street. He started the store around 1903 as an addition to his laundry business which he operated out of his home at 11th and State Streets. After a few yearsMr. Cramer moved his laundry business to Seventh Avenue where it continued to be run until it closed in 1957-58 due to financial problems caused by World War II GI's coming into town for military service!

Carmel, Indiana is a city in central Indiana and the county seat of Carmel County. The population was 27,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The nearest major metropolitan areas are Chicago, Illinois to the south, Indianapolis to the east and Evansville to the north. The first European settlers arrived in 1671 when French traders established a trading post on what is now known as State Road 12 near present-day Carmel. Jesuit Father Louis Jolliet visited Carmel in 1786 and recommended that Missionaries be sent to this area because of its rich natural resources which included coal, limestone, lead ore, and other minerals. In 1803, Missionaries traveled through Carmel on their way from Kentucky to St Joseph's River Valley mission station near Terre Haute. A group of these Jesuits founded what became known as Holy Cross Catholic Church in 1805 on land that had been donated by Micahel McMillin Jr., one of the original pioneers of Carmel Township.. In 1861, when Indiana became a state, Carmel was incorporated as a town with a population of just under 1000 people. It grew rapidly during this time with new businesses being founded such as an ice cream parlor and meatpacking plant followed by an agricultural center that produced hay, wheat, grains and vegetables until World War II when heavy industry took over artificial intelligence production at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., located on White Sands Boulevard just outside modern day downtown Carmel. Afterward much manufacturing moved out into adjacent communities such as Gary or Shawnee City while smaller businesses continued operations including several restaurants/cafés before becoming defunct or closed entirely due to economic conditions over time or natural disasters like earthquakes which destroyed homes along State Road 12 within sight of some today’s high-end shopping malls like Bloomingdale’s and Marshall Fields; however no one has ever lost any money investing in those companies! Today there are three large universities located within close proximity: DePauw University (just across I-465 from downtown), Purdue University (in West Lafayette) and Indiana University South Bend (just east off I-465). There are also numerous small colleges/universities scattered throughout the community including Fairfield Community College (just south of downtown), Mt Vernon Community College (northwest corner lot next to Interstate 465), Notre Dame High School (southwest corner lot next to I-465) among others which offer programs ranging from technical training for nurses all the way up through undergraduate degrees in business administration etcetera etcetera

In 1814, when Indiana became a United States Territory, Carmel was one of the town sites chosen. The first settler in what is now Carmel was Nicholas Swayne, who built a cabin on the site in 1816. By 1830, there were six families living in Carmel. In 1834, the first post office was established at Carmel. The first store opened in 1840 and the first doctor arrived in 1840. By 1850, there were ten families living in Carmel and by 1860, there were twenty-one families. Two years later, a school was founded and by 1870, it had graduated three students. During the 1800s, most of Carmel's growth came from agriculture because that was what people did for their income. However during the 1900s industrialization began to take hold throughout much of Indiana with many new businesses opening up including a shoe factory and breweries. After World War I ended things started to slow down as more people returned to farm life or moved away for various reasons such as war or climate change. However since the early 2000s things have started to pick up again with several new businesses opening up such as an online retailer and a health club。 Today Carmel is home to over 50 households making it one of Indianapolis' most diverse neighborhoods with residents coming from all over Indiana and beyond
Carmel, Indiana was founded in 1795 by the brothers Thomas and Joseph Carmel. It became a town in 1836. The Carmels built a gristmill on the White River and started a store in 1837. In 1845, the Carmels donated land to build a public school. The school was dedicated on February 14, 1846.
