Bullets have been a part of our history in Carmel, Indiana for over 100 years. On July 26, 1875, the first shot was fired from a rifle at the American Legion Post on State Street. The cartridge used was a 3-inch caliber ball. Bullets were also used in handguns until 1907 when they were replaced by firearms rounds. The first firearm to use bullets as ammunition was an Old Model Rifle made by Samuel Colt in 1857. In 1912, the National Rifle Association began using bullets as ammunition and by 1925 had developed a standard round for each caliber of gun. Bullet types included lead and copper-nickel rounds which could be reloaded multiple times with different sizes of shells or casings to increase range and accuracy. In 1934, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed Executive Order 6235 which banned all handgun calibers other than those authorized by the US Department of Justice with exception for rifles limited to certain calibers that could fire only non-toxic cartridges designed specifically for that type of weapon. This order also established bullet types specific to handguns such as .38 Specials and .45 ACP rounds which were still being used today albeit with slightly different weights and dimensions

Carmel, Indiana is a small town located in the northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 7,857 at the 2010 census. Carmel is part of the Carmel-Joliet metropolitan area and is served by the Carmel-Joliet International Airport. The town was founded in 1848 by John Hargrave and James Auld as a post office on the east side of what is now State Street in what is now White Township. In 1851, it became a city when it annexed parts of nearby Plainfield and Gary. In 1924, Carmel annexed its present-day portion from Joliet City. It has since grown to be one of Indiana's most suburban communities with easy access to both downtown Indianapolis and other major metropolitan areas such as Chicago and New York City. Carmel has a long history of agriculture; first farmers19th century cleared land for crops that they then raised using manual labor until electric equipment became available during World War II to help increase production on larger farms; today many families still farm eggs or tobacco while others are involved in manufacturing, trade, or professional services. In recent years some residents have turned their attention to downtown Carmel which has seen significant redevelopment including over 100 new businesses opened up since 2009 alone along with several high end residential properties constructed in response to demand from residents looking for urban amenities but also access to rural farmland within easy driving distance (eases commute time). Downtown business owners have worked hard to attract retail tenants like Macy's Bloomingdale's Sears Department Store vacated by JCPenney before it closed its store all together creating an opportunity for developers who plan To fill this void with mixed use/employment space that could house restaurant, office buildings etc.; making downtown Carmel not just another commercial district but something more pedestrian friendly Arts District complete with large open parkland giving citizens plenty of green space within walking distance without having to leave their neighborhood

Carmel, Indiana is a small town located in the eastern part of the state of Indiana. The population was 997 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Carmel River and it is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Carmel were those who crossed over from Canada during the time when Lake Michigan was a great body of water. They were called "The Mennonites." The land that they settled down on was very cold, so they built their homes near lakes and rivers. In 1814, General David Dixon decided to make this area his new military post because he felt that it would be good for trade and commerce. He named this place "Carmel" after one of his generals, Sir John Armstrong-Jones, who had helped him win both wars against Native Americans. General Dixon also donated some land to build a fortification around this place and named it Fort Wayne. The first store in Carmel opened its doors in 1827. This store was run by Mrs. Anna Snyder and her husband Moses Snyder Sr.. It was an early example of a mom-and-pop grocery store! Mrs. Snyder also served as Carmel's first school mistress! In 1838, Mrs. Snyder's son Amos moved into her business with his wife Lydia and started serving customers out of their home until building his own store on Main Street in 1840 which became known as The American Store! This store lasted until 1886 when it burned down! In 1850, Isaac Neeley opened up his own general store at 5015 E 4th St., later becoming known as Neely's Drugstore! That same year also saw the opening of Village Hall which served as the local government center for all village residents! By 1862, there were three stores open: Neely's Drugstore (now demolished), Village Hall (now gone) and Main Street Store (later renamed First National Bank). In 1865–66, Father John Deasy came to town from Chicago to preach about Jesus Christ and start evangelism for God’s kingdom here in India before going back East again in 1870; he organized religious services at various stores throughout central Indiana before finally coming back to India where he died aged 80 years old on December 8th 1926 A few weeks later on December 12th26 Father John Deasy attended mass at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Church Cemetery Chapel near Hammond while visiting friends there following surgery…He breathed his last after 36 years without ever having experienced heart disease or any other chronic illness!!! Unfortunately not many people knew about Father John Deasy’s death until quite recently since most everything connected with him has been lost over time including unpublished photos etc…. We do however have two handwritten cards dated December 12th 1926 that are still preserved herein among our collections……..We present these two cards below together with an article written by our founder/director Dr kidsz head entitled “Funeral Processions & Memories From An Old Indian Merchant” published online in 2006 www . indianapolisindystar .com/node/2160) In addition to their grocery store businesses, MrsSnyder ran another school for children starting c1836 called Friends School #1 which taught reading 5TH grade through 8TH grade along side English language classes./Itself continued until 1923 but due to lack of students funding pulled out during tough times…..Friends School #2 opened up soon afterwards continuing past 1923 along side current day Noblesville High School….. Friend’s Schooltoday offers PreK thru 8th grades.-Today Friends school operates under name Nobleville HS./First Elementary Schoolyard operated from 1903-1923 under name Friendship Schools Inc then changed hands multiple times before closing permanently 1953.(friendshipschoolINC@ yahoo .com) Other early businesses owners included: P Armitage Proprietary Tobacco Co., Fannie Ballinger Boot Shop & Furniture Emporium (opened 1853), Wm Ellington Coal merchant (1850), J H Farmer Grain Storage Agency (1857), G B Brown Horsedrawn Carriage Works (established 1860), A S Billington Lock & Key House Concrete Millinery(established 1865)).
