Many people found new homes in Brownsburg because they saw it as an opportunity to start over again after being forced out of their homes by white settlers. During World War II, Brownsburg served as an important ammunition depot for Allied forces fighting in Europe. After the war ended, many businesses closed down but many others were reborn thanks to local entrepreneurs like Luther Vandross Jr., who co-founded TV network CBS Corporation here in 1955 with his father (the original owner). In addition to its central business district that includes downtown streets lined with large warehouses and factories dating back to the 1860s – one such warehouse still stands today – Brownsburg also has several smaller districts which include: The Hill District (home to most of Brownsburg’s historical buildings), Park District ( encompasses much Of Brownsburg’s green space), Downtown (which contains most shops and restaurants) and Southside (a more rural area which includes some farmlands).
