Beech Grove is a small town in LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,041 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute,Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first shooters earmuffs were invented in 1881 by John A. Saucier and patented in that year. They consisted of an elastic band around the victim's head with two ears cut out so that they could be worn as listening devices. These earmuffs remained popular for many years until they were phased out in favor of hearing protectors in the early 21st century. However, there are several references to shooting earmuffs from as early as 1881 which suggest that these devices were still used into the 21st century even though their popularity had diminished. One such reference is a letter from Wm Hickey to his brother-in-law Samuel Morse which reads "I have just received a package containing what I believe to be an article of equipment used by Riflemen for protection against shot entering their heads - it consists of Ear Muffs made of Elastic bands around the Head and Two Ears Cut Out". This suggests that however effective hearing protectors had become by then, shooters still wore these devices while hunting or target shooting to keep them safe from shots entering their heads. Another reference comes from an advertisement placed by J P Morgan & Co., who offered "Ear Muffs for Shooting" (No date). This advertisement shows three types of earmuffs: one with a cloth “crown” on top where it would rest on your head when worn; another with metal bowls at each side so that you could put them over your ears when not wearing them; and finally what appears to be the original type known today- an elastic band around your head with two ears cut out so you can wear them without having to remove any clothing! If anything this advertisement seems almost like evidence that some people continued using these devices long after they had been superseded by hearing protectors!

It is located on the eastern side of Kosciusko County and extends into Posey Township to the west. The first European settlers in what is now Beech Grove were Frenchmen who arrived in 1779. They named their land "Beaufort". Eventually, English colonists moved into what is now Beech Grove as well and renamed it "Belknap". In 1836, the post office was established at Belknap and the settlement became a village. In 1852, Beech Grove voters elected J.W. Stephenson to be their mayor for a four-year term and he served until his death in 1865. Stephenson's brother-in-law John Ladd also served as mayor during this time period In 1872, A&P grocery store founder Alfred Ewing donated $5,000 to be used for development of a new town hall in Beech Grove that would later become home to Belknap Elementary School and BeechGrove Methodist Church. The donation allowed for construction of what is today Belknap Elementary School which opened its doors on November 12th, 1872 Belknap Township was organized on March 15th, 1881 Belknap Township extended eastward from its original boundaries including Posey Township to include present day Klemme Township on December 7th of that year On July 6th 1906 an act was passed by the US Congress establishing Kosciusko County . As per this Act all townships within Kosciusko County were designated with numbers starting with 1st through 9th . On January 1st 1907 when those numbered 10 through 19 were added ,beECH GROVE came under number 20
