After years of struggle by small businesses owners striving to keep their doors open while still providing quality service at rates that were competitive with larger companies nearby (a situation which often led to increased prices on goods sold locally), ultimately it proved impossible for most businesses within reach to remain open even though they offered good wages and competitive values relative to other locations statewide; eventually these establishments closed down or converted into modern day convenience stores or fast food restaurants catering largely towards tourists rather than locals who could only afford more expensive options outside their homes or communities across state lines

Today only a few remaining traces of this once popular community remain; including a park located on Illinois Avenue near 95th Street which offers interpretive programs about local history and culture; and a small museum located at 5222 Nawayka Road which tells about local women who have made important contributions to their communities during different eras.
