Samuel Colt continued to produce firearms under his own name until 1908 when he merged with Remington Arms Company which became Winchester Arms Corporation Ltd.. Winchester Arms Corporation Ltd produced handguns such as the Model 1886 Repeating Rifle which became one of the most popular firearms in history due its accuracy and firepower. In 1968, Winchester Arms Corporation Ltd changed their name back to Colt Firearms Company Incorporated which is still manufacturing firearms today under their original name!
