In 1893, Aiken started making rounds for shotguns and soon he had a large Enough business to start manufacturing rifle barrels too. It wasn’t until 1911 that Haines took over the business of making rounds for pistols and rifles. The Ammunition Manufacturing Company was founded by Jno. Baily in 1892 as an effort to produce high-quality rounds at an affordable price point for farmers and hunters around the area. This company would later become known as Browning firearms Corporation (BFC). Baily was able to bring quality rounds to market at an affordable cost while still providing his customers with excellent customer service. Over time, BFC became one of the largest manufacturers of ammunition in America with their line up including such famous brands as Winchester, Remington, Savage, Mauser & Ruger etc. It wasn’t until 1934 that Browning Firearms Corporation merged with American Armory Company which formed Browning-American Arms Incorporated (BAI). This merger allowed BAI to expand their product line beyond just ammunition into all types of firearms including handguns and rifles alike! In 1918 Ammo production returned to Yorkville after being transferred from Peoria. In 1933 Ammo production moved back to Yorkville after being relocated from Bloomington Illinois. Today Ammunition Production takes place at three facilities located within the town: A&W Gunsmithing shop which has been open since 1865; the 2nd hand store which opened in 1937; and finally the old ammunition depot which is currently used for storage of firearms and other equipment.

Yorkville was first settled by Germans in 1839 and named after Yorktown, Virginia. The community developed as a small agricultural town located on the east side of the Chicago River between Lake Michigan and Rush Street. By 1900, Yorkville had over 100 residents and consisted mostly of German immigrants who worked in farms and businesses around the riverfront. In 1925, when the city of Chicago annexed nearby Pilsen to its southside, Yorkville became an integral part of the new city. After World War II ended, many German Americans left for opportunity in cities such as Milwaukee or St Louis; however, many family members stayed behind to maintain their homes and businesses along with some new families from Germany who bought land near downtown Yorkville before they too leftied for greener pastures. Today, Yorkville remains largely untouched by modern development- aside from a few scattered apartment buildings - but offers a unique glimpse into history that can be found nowhere else on Chicago's north Side. With stops at two small local breweries (Lambic Brewing Company & Funkwerks Brewery) as well as several restaurants including Schnitzelhaus & Burger House which offer traditional German cuisine as well as contemporary American dishes (the Schnitzelhaus also has an open-air beer garden), visitors are sure to have fun exploring this charming little town while learning about its rich cultural heritage!

Yorkville was founded in 1848 by John and Anna York as a small town in central Illinois. By the early 1880s, it had grown to be one of the most populous towns in the state, with over 10,000 residents. The town's nickname, "The City of Roses", is due to its location at the heart of a large rose garden that Bloomsbury Avenue bisects. In 1915, Yorkville became a city and adopted its present name. During the late 1800s and into the early 1900s, Yorkville was an important center for heavy industry in Illinois. The town's main employer was Linton-Benton Copper Company, which mined copper east of Yorkville on the banks of the Mississippi River. Other major employers during this time included Armour Manufacturing Company (later General Electric), Kimberly-Clark Corporation (now Kmart), and United Fruit Company (now Frito Lay). In recent years, Yorkville has experienced a significant decline in population. Its population peaked at around 15,000 in 2000 but now stands at just 6,500 residents. However, the town remains an important cultural and economic center within Illinois' Great Lakes region. In addition to hosting many local events and festivals throughout the year, Yorkville also hosts several international visitors each year including World Expo 2020 delegates from China and Japan as well as American tourists visiting for agricultural exhibitions or business meetings.

In 1907, the railroad arrived and madeproviding transportation essential for businesses and residents alike. By 1930, YORKVILLE had become an incorporated village with a population of 3,500 people. During World War II, YORKVILLE played an important role as one of three U.S.-based military airfields responsible for strategic bombing operations over Europe. In 1945, following the war's end, YORKVILLE experienced rapid growth as new housing developments began to be constructed along State Street and other nearby streets. By 1958, YORKVILLE had reached its current size with a population of 5,000 people living within its borders. Since then, many major changes have taken place in Yorkville - most notably through the annexation of neighboring villages in 2007 causing overall population growth rate to reach 7%. Additionally; development has continued apace with several mixed-use projects now under way or planned between both residential/commercial districts as well as open space areas including a new parkland addition across from state government headquarters building on North Main Street just east of Illinois Route 507 (the "Old Main" district).
