They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but the most common type is the standard electric stun gun. There are also gas tasers and water tasers. The electric stun gun is the most common type on the market today. It has become increasingly popular because it is very easy to use and produces a short shock that can incapacitate someone. The first taser was developed in Woodridge, Illinois in 1881. It was called the "Nellie." The device was designed to be worn on a strap around the neck and it could be fired by pressing a button on the side of the weapon. Nellie was not very successful and was replaced by another device, called an "Annie" in 1885. Annie produced less results than Nellie did and was eventually replaced by an "Alma" in 1907. Alma produced more results than both Nellie and Annie did, so it became known as the "Alma Taser." Almas were more successful than either of their predecessors and remained in use until 1978 when they were replaced by new devices called "Dalmatian" tasers. The original purpose of dalmatian tasers was to kill animals rather than hurt people. However, over time they have been used as weapons for self-defense purposes as well as law enforcement purposes. Most recently, dalmatian tasers have been used to produce short shocks that can incapacitate someone without leaving any real marks or injuries behind (although this method does leave some skin red). These devices are usually carried with officers during raids or other high-stress situations where force may be required to achieve compliance or arrest conditions

Woodridge is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1859 by Nicholas Woodbridge and his family. The first settler in Woodridge was John Bedell. He and his wife, Sarah (née French), arrived from Maryland on July 3, 1859, and started a store in what is now the business district of Woodridge. They raised two children: George Washington Bedell and Anna Maria Bedell Huntress (1860-1937). In 1861 they moved to an adjacent farmstead called "Pine Grove". John's brother-in-law David Snively bought their share of the farm in 1865 and continued to live there until his death in 1901. In 1867 Nicholas Woodbridge purchased land east of Pine Grove from David Snively for $200 (#10 gold coins). This became known as "Woodridge Landing". One year later he donated land west of Pine Grove to build a schoolhouse which served students from all over Cook County. The first public school opened on October 8, 1870: graded School No. 5 within one mile of where it stands today (southwest corner of Randolph Street & Wabash Avenue). A new brick school building was erected on May 11th 1889; School No. 6A replaced it about 10 years ago when Route 66 took over much of our current alignment! The town has grown rapidly since its early days; by 1900 total population had reached 2,500 residents! There were no shopping malls or other commercial settings then – people simply gathered together to trade goods they produced themselves or collected from surrounding farmers’ markets! One result has been that many businesses have closed down or relocated away from this small but vibrant community – including some that have actually built their current locations right next door! But despite this impactlessness – due largely to strong farming practices dating back to those early days – many people continue to call Woodbridge home! Today, with more than 2 million residents living within its borders – Woodridge continues to be a bustling community full of life and hope...with an unwavering cultural commitment towards neighborliness and support for local businesses - everything you could possibly need just minutes away!

The village of Woodridge was founded in 1853 by the merger of two small settlements, West Chicago and East Chicago. The original name for the village was "Indianapolis". It was changed to "Woodridge" in honor of General George Washington Carver, who had donated land for the village. In 1906, Woodridge became a town. In 1925, the Illinois legislature passed a bill creating a new county seat for Cook County. The state chosen that year was Joliet, but because of population growth in Cook County and a desire by the Joliet city council to have its own county seat, Woodridge became the new county seat on October 1, 1925. At first it housed only Joliet officials and their families; but as development continued around Woodridge and other villages within Cook County (such as Streamwood), eventually all residents were required to reside within one mile of either the courthouse or some other government building. Today, Forest Park is located just east of Woodridge proper and is home to over 100 acres of parkland including several baseball diamonds, tennis courts, skateboarding areas, playgrounds and even an airport hangar!
The Woodridge area was first settled in the mid-19th century. The original settlers were farmers and their families who left from Illinois to find new land. They arrived on what is now the east side of Chicago. In 1847, a post office was established at Woodridge and it remained in operation until 1914. In 1892, the Chicago & Northwestern Railway built a line through the town and it became an important transportation route. The railroad also connected with other railways across the United States and Canada. This made Woodridge a busy agricultural center which supported many businesses including a grocery store, flour mill, meatpacking plants, and several churches. On December 12, 1915, during World War I,Woodridge was one of two villages located within artillery range of German forces stationed on Soldier Field in downtown Chicago Heights. On May 10 1925, as part of its regeneration efforts following World War II, Mayor Harry Sweeny ordered that all storefronts be turned into homes for residents of the newly developed neighborhoods around town called "The West Side." In 1955-57 when Interstate 90 was being constructed through central Illinois viaState Avenue bypassing Woodridge - many people left to live near I-90 just west of town due to highway development etc., before taxes rose too high (many people had bought homes there) so Mayor Elroy Shields ordered stopwise demolishing houses by setting them on fire then trucking them off into adjoining lots
